Food is fantastic! Had the spinach dip and curly fries to split between friends. Definitely a place geared towards students, so keep that in mind. Prices are typical but the volume and quality justifies it. Love that they have deals for different days of the week!

Decent food for cheap, but with service like that it better be! If you're wondering why the servers are so poorly trained, you need only look as far as the older gentleman that is clearly the manager/owner. Wouldn't even look up from his phone from behind the bar as we stood not two feet from him waiting and waiting and waiting to be greeted and seated as the sign suggests. Not a unique experience but probably going to be our last. I'd have seated myself, but clearly with the lack of attentiveness we would definitely remain ignored.Absolutely pathetic response from management, short staffed? The place was very quiet and sparsely seated when we walked in at 940 this morning sir, and you stared at your phone facing our exact direction behind the bar like a teenager while we waited and waited for you to bother to look up. It wasn't like you were busy and it definitely wasn't like you couldn't have seen us, absolutely no excuse. Once again, the behaviour you'd expect from a teenager and not a grown man, but your response is definitely on par for someone who is clearly that ignorant.Thank you sir!

Great breakfast spot! Their home fries are amazing every time and their prices are the best you’ll find for this type of meal. It’s a good spot to meet up with people for breakfast or brunch.Parking: On weekends you can park at the parking lot across the street from F&S

Located next to Ottawa University, very popular with students and locals from Sandy Hill. They appear to have a good special every day of the week. Great beer selection. Very vibrant atmosphere. Service quick , pleasant and efficient. We didn't eat, only pitchers of beer.

Was looking at my breakfast plate recently and commented that it was a work of art. The toast, homefries, steak, and scrambled eggs were perfectly done & thoughtfully arranged. Wally's breakfast eggs are legendary. Get mine scrambled and they're done to perfection. The coffee has the perfect caffeine quotient. Two cups and I'm on edge.Practice makes perfect. F&S has been in the business for decades and it shows. They set the standard for early morning fare in the National Capital. For value for the dollar, the restaurant is the best in Canada. No wonder so many students and regulars consider the F&S their home away from home.

For a bar that is situated right beside a college campus, it was decently well busy on a Sunday night. However our food was fast. The drinks were fast and the service was pretty decent.One thing I was surprised at is that the prices are lower than what I would expect at a typical bar or restaurant. And the quality of the food and with what you pay are quite reasonable. So if you're looking for a bar experience at a below average Ottawa bar price. This is the place to go to. The only thing that sucks is that it's really hard to find parking.
