We went in for lunch, excellent vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I went with paneer makhani, came with huge naan, rice, chickpea curry and a Gulab jamun. Nice calm ambient atmosphere and the service was fast and efficient. Nice little Indian restaurant in little Italy.

Edit: ordered again on Jan 20th 2024 some butter chicken and naan and was disappointed my butter chicken had a lot of dark meat and cartilage. This probably will motivate me to try somewhere else. The garlic naan were fabulous though, and so was the butter chicken sauce.Just ordered way too much food to take out for 2! Their portions are generous and delicious; we got 2 chicken dishes, aloo ghobi, 2 plain naan, rice, onion bahji, and 2 veg samosas. This could have easily fed 4 people! The naans were HUGE, and I'd recommend a protein dish, a vegetable dish, and one naan or one rice for a nice supper, reasonably cheap, with no leftovers. I've never had a mango chicken curry before and now it's my favourite! Also, the onion bahji order was plentiful, and the samosas, huge too.I've been disappointed with some chicken dish sizes at other restaurants, not enough to share, but definitely not here.

Pros: Food was excellent. Very tasty but I don’t find the portions were particularly large like others have said. They seem to be on par with other Indian restaurants (and in our case it was just right, not too much, not too little).Cons: service is bit slow so make sure you have extra time. The server could be friendlier and more present. Didn’t take away our dishes when we were done, fill up water glass, etc.It was really cold in there, especially with so many Uber drivers coming in and out. That kind of detracted from the dining experience.

The food was wonderful - hot and fresh and plentiful. Good value. The restaurant was cold though and every time someone opened the door we were blasted with freezing cold air - there were a million Uber orders so this happened a lot, very unpleasant. There was also a phone on the bar behind us that rang super loudly non stop and they just left it. Ambiance was ok. Service was ok too, could have been a bit more attentive. Overall a good spot and will return, hopefully they figure out the heating situation.Vegetarian options: Great variety of veggie options

I don't generally write reviews for anything but this time I could not hold back. The food was really good specially the butter chicken, mango lassi and naan bread. The server with the tattoo is one of the kindest human I have ever met. He was extremely nice with our kids. My little one says she wants to go see him again. Will certainly be back for the butter chicken when we will be in Ottawa. Thankyou so much to everyone for making our evening awesome!And a message for the server if you see this- Just judging by the Medusa tattoo, I know you have gone through hell. I have personally been through similar situations. But there will be more positives I swear. I know you have fought and please continue on fighting. God bless you!
This place is amazing! We tried 4 different dishes and everything was beyond delicious. I highly recommend the palak paneer and the butter chicken. The restaurant is family owned and everyone was so friendly, service was great. Highly recommend!

Was given the wrong food, guy on the phone told me to come back in for the right dish, but then when I got there told me I’d have to pay for it. What happened to customer service? If I’m going to spend $40 don’t expect me to pay twice. I guess things have changed since the new owners came in.

We were pleasantly surprised by the experience.Despite it being a Monday night, the restaurant had a calm and inviting atmosphere. The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in. The staff was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home.For our meal, we ordered Garlic naan, Tikka fish, and Chicken saag. The food arrived promptly and lived up to our expectations. The flavors were outstanding, with just the right balance of spices. The Garlic naan was warm and perfectly baked, the Tikka fish was flavorful and tender, and the Chicken saag was rich and delicious.Overall, our dinner at Festival of India was a delightful experience. The combination of great service and fantastic food hit the spot, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. If you're in Ottawa and craving Indian cuisine, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

The slow service was simply unacceptable, making what should have been a delightful evening feel like an eternity.The food, unfortunately, did not live up to expectations either. The taste was mediocre, and the quality was very average. What struck me the most was the exorbitant pricing. Charging nearly $7 for a piece of naan bread is quite frankly unreasonable, and the fact that rice is not included in the main dishes, but instead an additional charge of nearly $7, is perplexing. Lunch specials seem to be more reasonable. There are several other Indian restaurants in Ottawa that offer either a better deal for the same fare or provide a superior experience in terms of authentic taste and quality.Regrettably, I won't be returning to this establishment...
