Wonderful place! Dropped by this evening and got the pork buns, tea egg and a soda and it was pretty fair price on campus. The food is homemade and made with care and personally, for the quality and care, I think it is a very fair, and good price. The buns were nice and soft, had ample filling and we liked they added vinegar and chili oil which elevated the taste. The tea egg was good as well.Overall, highly recommend! The wait time for food was pretty quick and compared to other options on campus, I think this is clearly one of the best.

Thank you boss for the steamed buns. It’s just that there is too much MSG. My urine smells like MSG. I don’t have to choose the steamed buns.

The steamed pork buns were really good and also a nice size. It came with black vinegar and chili oil on the side. We also enjoyed the tea eggs and the sausage wrap. Everything was prepared quickly and was served warm. I will be back for the inexpensive home-cooked food.

An eatery on school ground that charges good price for their food.Food: Typical breakfast booth with grab n go item. Taste is great for the price and would fit majority’s palate.Atmosphere: a corner on the university ground.Service: it’s food booth; but the lady is very sweet.Time: usually 5~7 minute since ordering, pretty fast.

I was hoping for a bit more with the pork buns, but they weren't flavourful at all and the spicy sauce you can get on the side wasn't spicy at all nor flavourful. The beef brisket noodles were OK but for the price I can't really recommend. Staff was very sweet though

Amazing buns (bao) that are very authentic. Hard to find in Ottawa since XiangZi closed. Really enjoy them here!

Omg! Flour Kitchen is the cutest little takeout hut on the University of Ottawa campus run by the cutest old Asian couple, lol! They have a tiny menu, selling only Chinese snacks and noodles, but are super popular. I've tried their Bao Buns ($2.50-$3 each), Egg, Sausage and Lettuce Wrap ($7) and Beef Brisket Noodles ($14). Admittedly, the food is 3 stars, in my opinion, but the owners are super sweet, and it's relatively cheap eats, and reminds me of my own university days (and my tastes back then, lol) so I threw in an extra star ;) The beef buns are $6 for 2 and the pork buns are $5 for 2. I tried both. The buns were a good size and the bao pastry was soft and fluffy. The filling was a bit sparse, but flavourful and good. It was ground meat with cabbage and onions. The accompanying black vinegar dipping sauce was good. They also gave me some spicy chili oil, but it contained sesame seeds so I couldn't eat it. I liked the Baos the best out of everything I tried there. I thought the "sausage" in the Egg, Sausage and Lettuce Wrap would be Chinese sausage, but it was just a big hot dog, haha. A big hot dog, in a thick crepe with an egg layer, lettuce and sauce, lol. The crepe was soft with good chew and it was pretty filling. The sweet and umami sauce balanced the saltiness of the hotdog. University student me would have been all over this. Current me thought it was just ok, but liked that it reminded me of my student days ;) The beef brisket noodle was very carby, lol. Lots of udon noodles. The meat was too fatty and sinewy for me, haha. But the flavour was good. It had a strong five spice flavour. The bok choy in it were good, but I wished that there was more of it, and it would have benefitted from having some other vegetables. If the meat was leaner, I would have enjoyed this dish more. There was a constant line up when I was there. Most customers were speaking with the owners in their native tongue, so I feel like this place is legit, lol. They have something called squash congee, which I've never heard of before. I might try that next. They also have tea eggs, which I have also never tried before. Their hours are limited (not open on weekends) and they are only open during the regular school year (closed in the summer). Street parking only, which is a pain in the butt to find, lol.

Seeing the other review 2 months ago, I want to add on that I don’t understand why they can’t put the soup and noodles in separate containers. By the time it’s delivered there’s pretty much no soup left and the whole thing is soggy. I even left a note on my order but they just won’t do it.

Delicious authentic chinese food. Enjoyed the Tea Eggs. Will have to try the noodles next time!
