The food is delicious. The staff are wonderful. Washrooms are clean. The reason I gave atmosphere three stars is because they played the same song on loop the entire time I was there. Everything else was find.

We started going to their east end location way back in 2005. When we moved we traveled from Barrhaven to go pick up. So glad to have the south location. Consistent, excellent food every time. 10/10 highly recommend.

I would give zero stars if that was an option. I do not plan on getting food from here again. Host India has been a staple in my household for a couple years but last night was the last straw. I stopped placing orders for pickup, because of the chaos that characterized the pickup process, and opted for delivery instead but you can’t get that right either.I placed an order for delivery and 75 minutes later the food had not been delivered. I called the restaurant 3 times and the person answered the phone lied to me not once, not twice but three times: he told me that the delivery person was outside and had attempted to reach me but I was not answering, that the food had been delivered, and that he was going to call the delivery person and call me back - which he didn’t do. I ended up physically going to the restaurant to pickup my order only to find that the order was not even ready. There was an older gentleman at the front who looked like a deer in headlights - he couldn’t give an answer to anything I asked. The other man who answered the phone was extremely impolite and didn’t have even the slightest humility; he couldn’t even apologize for your own errors! He acted like he was doing me a favour by fulfilling my order, that I had possibly forgot my address and had the food delivered elsewhere as if I do not know where I live.It took over 90 minutes from me to get my order! Don’t worry Host India, I got the message loud and clear, I will start the search for another Indian restaurant to come in clutch on the days when I don’t the time to make food from scratch.

Did Uber Eats and won’t order again. Out of the 7 items I ordered 2 were worth while. The filling in both the meat and veg somosa crumbled and were so dry no amount of chutney could help. The onion Bhaji were so hard they couldn’t be eaten and I threw them out. The seekh kabab were hard and dry I knocked them on the counter and they sounded like stones. The paneer pakora were unimpressive. It was after 9 on a Friday night. Perhaps they were reheating food from the dinner rush because all items except the naan seemed like they had been laying out for a while. With all fees and generous tip I am out 100$ for one order of chicken madras and 2 naan.

This place is simply beautiful, the prices are high, but it is worth it. I went on a Monday for dinner, and we were all by ourselfs. Amazing!

Recently, I noticed a significant change in the butter chicken at this restaurant, and it's not for the better. The once delightful dish seems to have lost its charm, with a noticeable reduction in spice levels. The absence of that distinct kick has left the butter chicken tasting rather bland compared to its former flavorful self. Hoping for a return to the original spice levels that made this dish a favorite.

I went there today for lunch buffet with my son. Every item was delicious. Staff was helpful too.

They prioritize Uber and Skip drivers. Service was rude, after waiting an additional 30 min for the takeout dinner the manager/owner told me to sit and then ordered me when I didn't comply. The meal was supposed to be ready in 15min, it took close to an hour. The food was good, authentic but found the 9 chunks of chicken in the butter chicken a rip off for the cost, the quality of the chicken was questionable. I have to say that the fresh naan bread is amazing.

Ordering system seems to prioritize phone-in orders, and uber eats - we ordered direct from the website in hopes of keeping $$ local, put in an online order just after they opened, was notified it would be 30 minutes. After 45 min I arrived, and they couldn't find my order, finally check online orders (seems to be a separate system), find it, and tell me it's not ready. Stood waiting for another 45 min, watched people walk in, who ordered online AFTER me, walk out with their food. All the while staff, are reassuring me that my order is coming soon - no apology, no explanation, no indication of how long I would actually have to. wait. They must have failed to put my order in the queue, and didn't do so until I was standing there. Not cool! Yummy food, tainted by the frustration of poor service.

This was an online order. I don't know if the staff is just plain incompetent or they forgot my order. The order was made by 4:08pm on a Sunday and we were given a pickup time of 4:40. It was 5:25 before the food appeared and that was after spending quite a while having them search through the wee bits of paper that weren't my order only to have someone finally say "oh, you must have ordered online, not ready yet". What the???? When the food finally appears, no apologies, no offer of a discount, or coupon for another order, nothing. The food was okay but not worth the wait. Order elsewhere is my opinion.

Don't order online, the staff don't have a clue about online orders. It appears the staff are either totally incompetent or they lot my order, either way they did nothing to fix the issue. Placed the online order right at the time of opening on a Sunday at 4pm. By the time everything was ordered, checked and paid for it was 4:08, the order was to be ready for pickup by 4:40. Went to pick up, and got the runaround..."What order? What name? What did you order? When did you order? How did you order?" finally someone said oh, you must have ordered online and they turn away from all the written orders and slips of paper to look at a computer and , wow, there's the order. Well, not ready yet they say, but soon. It's now 4:50pm. Many more orders are brought out and several people are waiting. Most seem to be Uber, Doordash or whatever. After another 15 minutes I am told almost ready! Another person comes in and I hear him say "I ordered online", of course his order wasn't ready either. I asked when he ordered and he told me about 4:35. Still waiting. Finally at 5:25 my order appears. By this time I am fuming. No apologies, no offer of a discount on my next order, nothing. Well, perhaps the little cardboard thing of mik balls that was in the bag was their idea of an apology but not appreciated and not wanted. The food may have been good but hard to tell after waiting such a long time. We thought we were being nice to the restaurant by not having them pay for the delivery services. Never again.
