And while we are there we always pickup a few interesting finds like marinated garlic or strong cheeses. The service is impeccable and we are always happy to support local stores. This is more than a boutique Italian grocery store and deli. A fusion tapas style Italian experience similar to my visit to Rome and Amalfi Coast. The cheese, deli meats and olive selection is exquisite and the sandwich bar is top notch. Chilling at the wine tapas bar with jazz is quite an experience within the fine food prep for a cold night by the fire place watch HNIC. Only downside is they are a family of Leaf fans....GO SENS GOCoxy

I've been coming here almost weekly for about 3 years and I love this place. Great selection of high-quality products, complemented by friendly and knowledgeable staff. They recently added a sit-down section called Ventuno, where they serve charcuterie and small plates in the evenings.This section is very clearly cordoned off and signage indicates the hours of operation. I'm excited to try this out!

The products are very good quality and enjoyed the tiramisu. We spent over 100$ on different goodies and liked the store and me and my wife bought a sandwich and cappuccino each. While waiting for our coffee we started eating at a empty long table and was immediately asked to leave because the table was for the restaurant. I’ve never seen such bad business étiquette . The table could easily fit a dozen people and was completely empty and we had to ré wrap our sandwiches and go eat them in the cold car with our cappuccino .will not be returning after this experience.

Went in here to get some goodies for New Year’s Eve. Decided to pay for a pressed panini to enjoy . The small store has two areas with sitting space however even though we bought a sandwich and dropped over $100 in the span of 10 mins we were thrown out of the restaurant area that was EMPTY!!!never felt so humiliated in my life. Save your money . You have lost all of my respect Il négozio and my business along with it . ciao per sempre .

Visited Ottawa for the first time and stopped by this neighborhood gem I found. What a gorgeous spot with great staff! I loaded up on a variety of Italian goods and had an amazing Cuban sandwich for the ride home. When traveling I will make sure to go out of my way to visit again.

I was looking for an alternative to nicastro's on Merivale because it's permanently closed now.Right now, I'm in Il Negozio Nicastro on Wellington St. I was just looking for anchovies and they have about seven different varieties to choose from. This place is awesome. Clean, attentive staff, great selection of wide variety of things. (I meant the store is clean but the staff are pretty clean too.)Highly recommended.
