Amazing experience for my first time. Heard about it from a barman elsewhere and wasn’t disappointed. Service was amazing, super helpful staff as well as the care they seem to put in their craft. Food seems to follow a seasonal/what is being cooked lately approach, so you might not get the same thing twice. Will definitely go again and add this one to my rotation.

We love this place. It's consistent and great. Food, atmosphere, service, drinks. It's a treat to come here cause we always know we'll have a great time and leave happy.

Although the service was good, the food was too oily and the employees were talking to each other, which created an unpleasant atmosphere. The only redeeming quality was the service provided by the server. I do not plan to return.

Menus, food, service, music. All was stellar. Best Sake I've had in Ottawa, and they're something unique in this city. This place is an instant staple for me.

Our new favourite spot! The food was incredible and the service was amazing - attentive without being overbearing. The space is a bit squishy with tables really close together but it didn’t matter that much once the food arrived as we were too busy being blown away by our meals! We had the crispy chicken (deeeeeelicious!) and tuna crudo (best in the city to date and we’ve eaten it everywhere we’ve been that has it!) to start with a couple of delicious and perfectly balanced cocktails. I had the Dan Dan noodles (holy good god typing this - my mouth is watering), and my husband really loved the brisket & udon noodle dish with kimchi. We went just last week and are already planning our next visit!

Visited on a Thursday evening and it does get quite busy (relatively small space) so I would recommend making a reservation.Drinks were strong! Wish the chicken karaage had a bit more seasoning. The ramen was delicious - the century broth was thick and flavourful. The dan dan noodles were a bit lacking but I did really like the chili crisp on top. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Service was amazing and the food was some of the very best I've ever had. The tuna crudo was better than any other restaurant we've tried anywhere. Can't wait to go back!

First time at Paper Tiger and it lived up to the hype. Loved the ambiance of the smaller space. Food was so flavourful - some of the best ramen I've had. Drinks were also excellent. Can't wait to go back! Can't recommend this place enough.

We have ordered before and enjoyed. We recently ordered takeout and I specified clearly about an allergy, which was confirmed and noted. Food arrived, one container labeled as being free of the allergen....except there it was visible to the naked eye, all over both bowls of ramen and the eggplant salad. I called them and they had absolutely no explanation, implied that it could not be the case and offered a credit for the next meal (!!). I had to request a refund. If you serve an allergen, that was clearly explained, and have such a cavalier attitude and poor customer service response, I don't know what you're doing in the restaurant industry. Mistakes can happen but own it, make up for it and be polite when you've disappointed a customer and now they have to find another dinner plan. The attitude was the most disappointing part of the whole interaction.

Delicious food - Strange encountersThe smell upon walking in was heavenly, although the hostess was a bit abrasive and insisted that all seats had been reserved in a half full restaurant despite the reservation we had made. We were seated in the furthest corner of the bar by the wall in back of a very loud group while multiple other seats were available. All other seat options that were available upon walking in, stayed available until we walked out after dinner which was kind of upsetting. We ordered the eggplant salad, the special wings, brisket noodles and the beast ramen. The ramen broth is much more on the rich side but the rest of our order was phenomenal. Unfortunately, a poorly thought out comment from the bartender was made about the quantity of food we ordered for two people. He had lead on that we had probably ordered too much food as he was bringing us our mains and hadn’t advised us otherwise as we were placing our order with him earlier. The comment left a bitter taste in my mouth, considering I was starving. Despite our small statures, we were there to have a good meal and did not welcome the comment on how much we should be eating. And, for the record, we finished our meals inhouse.Don’t wear your best as you will leave smelling like food.

Love, love, love Paper Tiger! So delicious! It's hard to pick anywhere else when the mood to go out for food strikes.Their take on karaage is absolutely delicious- the lime rather than lemon is a fun twist on things too. They also have a great drink selection including sake from Izumi which is a company run out of Ontario (highly recommend doing a brewery tasting experience if you're ever in Toronto) that makes very good sake.I believe they do seasonal dishes as well as I've seen items come on the menu temporarily.
