Always like the atmosphere at the Swan. Service was prompt and attentive. I liked the chicken paneer curry, although compared to previous visits (+1 year ago) it's changed up a bit to have less veg like peppers and onions in the dish. Husband liked the poutine. We both really liked the potato skins appetizer. Will visit again.Parking: Right out front, lots of space.

Dear business decision-maker. Not every day is perfect. Here is a reality check. Today, we were looking for a pub to have a nice lunch. We've dined at the Swan before, and enjoyed it. Today at 1230, the resto was not very busy (4 tables of couples), so we took a table of 4 in the patio. The waitress asked us if we could move to a table of two along the wall away from the window, so that if any party of 4 showed up, they could have the table. That is a bad business decision. Instant uneasiness. If we say ''no, we are sitting here', then what? When I am uncomfortable in an environment where I am paying for a service, my reply is distance. I enjoy not giving money to people that do not appreciate my business. I would have rated the food, but unfortunately you can guess the rest. In full view of three employees, we waited 10 seconds and left without disturbing any diners. One of the staff was heard to say 'what did you say to them' as we were leaving. I support the local economy 7 days per week, but I am sorry, you have lost a few families over this.

The most authentic pub in Ottawa. From the menu, beer selection to the atmosphere this lives and breathes a true pub. We dined in on the 18th of November for my son's 13th birthday. Every dish was cooked to a taste of perfection! From the complimentary biscuits with flavourful lemon honey butter, appetizers calamari and shrimp platter, with deep fried lemon slices(Yum!), properly loaded nachos that were perfectly crisped(not soggy in the middle like most restaurants). The lobster mac and cheese was delightfully creamy with large pieces of lobster. For Fish n'Chips lovers, you've gotta go for their newest menu item Fish Sammies-they were a huge hit! If you like burgers and you are really hungry-you've gotta have the OMG burger-imagine eating a double stacked delicious beef burger and cripsy chicken burger-I'm in! And if you are a traditionalist then go for the liver(did you know it is the most nutrient dense foods available?) and don't forget the onions! For the birthday person they offer a free delectable large piece of chocolate peanut butter cheesecake with two healthy dollops of whipped cream. The wait staff was so friendly and professional, from making the reservation, to greeting us at the door, through the entire serving experience. In the summer, this is the perfect location to help you relax by the river as you watch the boats pass by or pull up in your own boat and enjoy all the Swan has to offer! The Swan on the Rideau is a must for your Ottawa eatery bucket list! Enjoy!

Booked a large group for lunch on Saturday, staff was so accommodating and the liver and onions was excellent as usual! Lots of new menu items , the buns with honeybutter were amazing and addictive!! Our favorite local spot for a meal. :-)

The service was fantasticOur server was energetic and quick.The chicken parm sandwich was tasty, but the cut of meat was small and very thin, and dry because of it. I'd have like to see more than a 1/4in of meat. The sauce used was good enough.
the new menu items are fantastic! I had the boar sausage and my husband had the bison burger. outstanding! the new biscuit with honey butter disappeared too quickly. the house made pie was plate licking good. the service as always was outstanding and attentive. the Swan is really a special gem.

I was pleasantly surprised by that place. The atmosphere is a very cosy dark British pub which is great..it's a warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly, the food was very tasty and big portions. I will definitely be back. Bonus it seems that there is a pretty big patio at the back for summer.
Best food and ,service ever.. I give them 100/100 %. Food is actually homemade. Not frozen. Price is good. And the service is the best you will ever find in Ottawa. I sooooo recommend them.Debbie

What an amazing place to eat. The food was amazing but the service was what set this place apart. Jen our server was one of the best I have ever had. She went out of her way to accomodate us. It's right on the Rideau river and you can sit in the screened in patio or inside. But the view from the patio are what you want. I had banngers and mash and it was some of the best outside of England I have had. We will be making this a regular stop of our s now.
