T&D Chips is a food truck that has been around for well over a decade. In my youth, I loved chip wagons, but as I got older, they lost their appeal. I got to experience T&D Chips for the first time recently by happenstance. I only ate a few fries, but they were good typical chip wagon fries. My husband and I were walking around Centretown and getting hungry. We planned to have a snack at King's Wrap, but they do this unusual thing where they close between 3:30pm and 5pm and guess what time it was? Yes, during the time they are closed. So my backup plan was Yi Ryo. The wait for my food at Yi Ryo was apparently too long for my hangry husband who was waiting outside, so he marched on down to Lisgar and Bank Streets and grabbed some fries at T&D Chips. So when I stepped out of Yi Ryo, I saw my husband standing on the street, voraciously eating fries out of a paper bag, lol. Being a good Yelper, I stopped him for a picture of the fries and sampled some, haha. So he told me they were $5 and the food truck only accepts cash. They were hot and crispy and slightly sweet. I liked that they weren't mealy. He told me it was a medium, but the bag looked pretty small to me. However, given places like Clocktower charge $12 for an order of fries (yup, for real, I couldn't believe it and further couldn't believe that my husband actually bought them once, and they weren't even good, but that's another story) I guess $5 is a deal these days. And the fries at T&D chips were actually good. Anyway that's my story about T&D Chips, lol.

I grew up downtown and went here with my mom and dad all the time .. not only is the food amazing the family is so kind.Everything is perfect, from the food to the price to the service. I don’t live downtown anymore but I ALWAYS make it there when I am. So worth it.* mom says hi! *

I got a medium fry, salt and vinegar halfway up. $4.50 is not just a great price, the fries were perfect! It's nice to see a truck that doesn't try all sorts of new things but can't figure out the basics. Will definitely return.
My absolutely favorite place for poutine ! Nice thick home cut fries , gravy and real cheese curds.... Everytime I’m in town i have to stop by ! Plus the owners are pretty bomb ??
