This place is a great hole in the wall style taco haven. Just off Bank st, camouflaged in a double garage, their tacos hold their own for tacoholics. You will not be disappointed.

I just spent time watching a stressed out woman rushing to make everyone's order, and 22 dollars (extra for steak, tip and tax included) on what turned out to be a side salad, that has a bug in it. Not great.

I’d give more stars if I could. Chantal works tirelessly to bring you delicious, filling, and honestly sinful food and deserts. The tacos and burritos here are so filling, tasty and clearly made with love. The deserts are all scratch made and something you should not pass on! And the best thing is 99% of the menu is gluten free right down to the delicious deserts! Keep in mind 12-1 is super busy rush for lunch, so you might wait a little bit but it’s worth it! Otherwise it’s usually very fast service, great food and she accommodated you to the best of her ability! Fantastic service, fantastic food.

Upon entering the restaurant, you will be greeted with some of the friendliest service that you will ever encounter. I can't think of many other restaurants I've been to where the delightful chef will take your order, cook your food, and engage in conversation with you while you're at the restaurant. This was a truly unique experience, one of which I will not soon forget. Tacolot will be the first restaurant I visit when I return to Ottawa!

Chantal is an excellent chef and conversationalist! She prepares the sauce blends in-house, and makes the tacos herself. I visited on a Wednesday after the lunchtime rush, so had a chance to get to know Chantal. We had easy, free-flowing conversations. She has decades of experience as head chef in one of Ottawa’s busiest pubs. Her skills of continuing to innovate rich taste palettes, managing busy clientele, and creating an intimate homely atmosphere all make Tacolot a must-go taco place! My new favourite taco spot in Ottawa.
