A favorite Friday night dinner place with anywhere from 3 to 10 people in my dinner group. Last night there were 5 of us and everyone's food was unanimously acclaimed as delicious. I had the poutine which was savory and delicious. The beef gravy was perfect and the cheese was plentiful. The 9 ounce glass of house red Cab Sauve was perfect.
Really good poutine(just the right amount of curds) and draft beer. I am an american who visits Ottawa often but hasnt really hit any of the bars and i just wanted a laidback place to drink beer, blend in and people watch and catch some Hockey. This fit the

The bartender lacked the basic social interaction (no how are you, no welcome to the royal oak, no how is your day etc) and cut me off after a single hour.
