My first time here and the food was good and the prices better. I went with hubby at 5:30 which is happy hour so I got an appetizer for 10$ and a mango cosmo for 8$. The brie burger was really tasty.

My boyfriend and I had so much fun here last night. Our waitress was great, friendly and fast. We had pizza, with pickles on it and I guess it was deep dish or something but oh my was it ever good. Something about that crust! Overall atmosphere was a hit, the DJ had awesome music which really made it that much better. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, it was very lively. Definitely my cup of tea!

It has an interesting atmosphere and good food. The waiters are friendly. Only at the end of the night DJ entered the restaurant and played very loud music which was annoying. I recommend.

We went there for late night drinks and food and it was great. The food itself wasn’t mindblowing, but it was pretty good. We got there at 10:45pm and the music was pretty loud, but that’s totally okay, apparently it’s much quieter before 10:30pm.The highlight was the service. It was impeccable. Fast, friendly and cool. It was probably the best service we’ve had during our visit to Ottawa and we’ve had plenty of good service.Overall, great experience and fun little pub / restaurant. Worth a stop !

I've been going to Standard for many years. The food is always delicious. The staff is always kind and courteous. The evenings always have the best music. It's a fun night out every single time.

The restaurant brought in a DJ, but the amplified music reached ear-piercing levels, making it a challenge to enjoy the dining experience without risking our hearing.

The drinks for Sippin’ Santa were so fun! The North Pole bowl is HUGE and pretty tasty. I don’t recommend the Ho Ho Hot Buttered Rum, it was just TOO buttery and didn’t have a very good after taste. The rest of the drinks were great ??After 10:30 they turn the lights down and the music

We went for the Christmas decorations which they hit out of the park, awesome atmosphere! Drinks are a bit on the pricey side. Would recommend though!

I’ve been in a few times on Saturdays and the dj has always been super nice. Played my requests. Would highly recommend people come check the dj there on Saturdays.

Me Muvver always said "If you ain't got nuthin good to say, say nuthin at all".The aforementioned is why this is my first poor review and most likely my last - I only promote the positive. I let others determine if their experience was as bad a one I may have...Arrived to join a large group. Worth pointing out that usually when an establishment accepts such (large group) a 'Res' they schedule the apros pro number of Servers. I know they can get upset when more people show up than reserved for so in theory... Yes I was upset that the service was sub-par as there were more than one large gatherings. However, I was willing to overlook as it was a hit and miss (depending on when one arrived and where they were sat). Ordered off the day's 'special' (impetus for this review) menu. I had the lime Margurita and chicken nachos. As mentioned it took awhile for everyone to order and receive their selections. The drinks were really good. Especially as the person who ordered the 'Pineapple Margurita' was told that there was 2oz of tequila in the drink! For $8? That's rare these days. Special or not! I ordered two of the Lime myself. The Nachos were average (Bland). I can make better at home. However, not as bad as some places where they just bury them in ingredients and cheese. For $15 ($10 + $5 for chicken) not terrible. Just needed some seasoning. So why the 3 stars? It was a special menu that I ordered from. Would those items not show up with the 'special' price automatically? If not, would the person entering the items not see a trend? Why is everyone ordering the same? Is there are special on? Regardless, when I received the bill for the Nachos and two Lime Margurita's, I paid with 18% tip. Then it hit me that the amount appeared rather high for 2 x $8 + $15 + tax + 18%. That was when I saw full price was charged for drinks. So I ask for review - which is still not the impetus (wait for it). "Oh I'm so sorry. Not sure how that happened". A few moments later... "Do you mind if I give you the difference in cash?" "No not at all". I am promptly given $8.50. So if it is not an IT error. If it is not that the person did not know the day's special. Then it is a lack of math skills or training. Cain't think of anything else. Not only did I not get a pleasant (o.k the drinks were good) experience [while visiting The Standard] but I was short-changed on my refund - (2 x $14 + $15 + tax +18%) - (2 x $8 + $15 + tax + 18%) surely comes out to more than $8.50 in cash n'est-ce pas?
