The best Mexican food since last visiting Mexico. 6 out of 5 for food 6 out of 5 for the service. I truly recomend this place for anyone wanting authentic fresh Mexican food. We can't stop thinking about this. And will be back very soon. Finally a place that doesn't put an American spin on things. give this a try. You will be impressed. Daily soup is amazing as well .

Just had a great lunch today after seeing this great local restaurant pop up in a social media post. Great location in Peterborough! Very fresh ingredients used. I had the Taco trio and a small side of the mango salad. So delicious ?. Great service by the staff and the owner showed up before I left. Very pleasant man and was sincerely interested in feedback. I highly recommend and definitely will be back!

Tacos so good, my husband ordered a second round. Out of the tacos we tried, our favourite was the barbacoa. I also had the soup which had well-developed flavours and was super comforting. Will definitely stop in again.Dietary restrictions: was able to eat gluten free without any issues

I thoroughly enjoy the messy and absolutely delicious tacos that I order from Martin. He is so happy, knowledgeable and excited for you to try his food. All of which he makes himself for you to enjoy. Martin is a great addition to the local markets and caters at many events that I attend. I always enjoy a quick chat prior to Martin recommending different suggestions. I love the bright colours of the food. When you are wanting a taste of Mexico, please purchase from La Mesita Mexican Restaurant. You will not be disappointed!

Wow what an amazing experience. Easily the best Mexican food I've ever eaten, truly authentic Mexican cuisine! The owner Martin is awesome and he cooks the food himself. Wow totally unexpected ... great fresh ingredients with not a drop of cheese!! The mushroom and onion taco and bean and corn tacos were delicious as was the mango salad. My husband had three tacos chicken, chorizo and beef and thought they were the best tasting he ever had. Our young server was also the chef and he managed to do it all in this tiny restaurant. He also made sure he answered our questions and that we were happy with our food. Thank you.Vegetarian options: Three taco varieties and mango salad. Dishes are varied and stand out from so many of the generic cookie cutter restaurants you'll elsewhere.Owner clearly loves what he does, and is so genuine and friendly.Atmosphere is beautiful and blends deep, rich woods, with bright and colorful Mexican designs.Vegetarian options: Three different taco filling options are veggie friendly. I had all three.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at front door. Tables are spaced out enough that they should allow most mobility devices.
We stopped there for lunch this past September. I ordered a cheese and barbacoa quesadilla with sour cream and Pico de Gallo, with a can of Canada Dry. Partner ordered veggie tacos. There was a slight wait due to new staff in training, but the amazing owner served every guest in the house a taste of sangria; he also gave Phil and me 2 freshly made cinnamon donuts. This space is cozy and very personable. It only seats about 14. I would go out of my way to visit again. We enjoyed the hospitality and the food in equal measure.
