But 'N' Ben Bakery did a wonderful job of catering the desserts for my father's celebration of life on Nov 18, 2023. I live in Atlanta so I had to make arrangements from afar. The order was delivered on time and with great care. They were able to provide miniature versions of all of my Dad's favorites, and they were every bit as delicious as I remember them to be! It was such a relief to have the catering well taken care of on such an emotional day.

Unfriendly service. Red flags should go off right off the bat as most goods have no prices on them. I think they count on the fact that most people will hide their sticker shock to prevent any embarrassment when cashing out.

Amazing product love the sausages and potato scones

Over priced and under flavoured. Definetley not what it was back in the 1980's. Square sausage have no flavour and the cost of links is a joke. They are not prime rib so why the high prices. On saving grace is the veggie rounds. There was no Christmas cakes this year. Where are the Sultana cakes? The staff did not know what I was asking for. Perhaps you start hiring experienced staff that know thier clients wants and needs. I have been visiting the various locations since the early 80's and today's lot does not compare. It is unfortunate we lost WHite Heather in Whitby a few years back. 1000% better. It is sad, but the only way to get good product these days is to fly home. Final note. they no longer have the 10% discount if you spend more than $50 on a wednesday nor do they discount the price of a six pack of Irn Bru. Metro sells a four pack for $4.00. What is your price? $2.25???

The best potato scones on the planet!!

Same feelings as everyone else. We’re working out a recipe to make our own Lorne sausages and scones. The Scarborough location is night and day. Super friendly, helpful, a great experience. Pickering is an overall unpleasant shopping experience.

Don't get this place. They have nice cakes. I went at 245 to pick up some for my wife (closing time 3). She's a glutton. I open the door and the woman working snarled at me "closed". I swear the woman working there is so nasty she treats you like she is doing you a big favour by serving you. I went to cobs across the way and was greeted nicely. Got something just as tasty. Honestly if the people working here wanted customers this place would have gotten 5 stars. But if you're a customer here, you're a hassle if missy is looking to get home early.

Wish I could give better review. Why is the woman so snarky? What is wrong with this place. Really wanted empire biscuits. Been craving for ages. Went 20 minutes before closing and was shooed out like a fly. Walked 45 mins to get there. Got a cinny bon from cobs. Cried all the walk home because empty handed for my life partner who was expecting biscuits and iron Bru.

We excitedly visited awhile ago (2020), after moving to the area, but it was such a disappointment. We were the only people in the store and the older woman at the counter was so dismissive of us. There was no signage for any of the products and she was very obviously impatient when we were trying to ask about what the items were. I can't believe all of the similar reviews with no obvious improvement... the food we chose wasn't anything to write home, but it was the customer service that left the worst taste. We haven't been back to try anything else.

Well alittle shocked. I always go to but n ben on ellesmere as i never have saturdays off to travel to pickering. Well went there finally and was greeted by a young girl that was super friendly and helpful. Then an old bird came out, was grumpy, short and her responses were rude and not appropriate for front line service. If she doesn't want to work Saturdays stay home your serving food, a young person could do a better job and use the cash. I will be using ellesmere from now on.

Do not order their meat pies. Congealed grease and hard pastries are not what I want from a mom and pop bakery. Frozen meat pies from Zehrs are better. Be warned.

I’ve always enjoyed their food. That’s why I will give them 2 stars. I’m appalled by their customer service. I called inquiring hours and if I could place an order prior to Christmas. The woman was abrupt but I figured she’s busy or stressed and let it go. My husband went in on Christmas Eve and was shocked with how rude the brunette woman that served him was. Christmas Eve, we’re trying to promote small business and buy our Christmas breakfast from a local bakery. He’s greeted with abrupt, short responses like his questions are an inconvenience. This is a difficult year for many people but if your front of house is rude to your customers you should have someone else out front. We can take our business elsewhere moving forward.

Glad I found this place. Apart from being a bit too salty, the pies and sausage rolls are very satisfying.

Horrid woman at the counter. Will never return.

Visited the bakery yesterday and the lady behind the counter (who was not permanently from the Pickering location) was very friendly and helpful. The melton mowbray pies and steak & onion pies were really tasty.
