We were headed up the 401 and needed a pitstop, a quick Google Search didn't identify any of your usual Chain Restaurants but then Schnitzel Shack appeared with 5 Star ratings. This amazing place with two lovely young ladies did not disappoint. Their cheerful and helpful demeanor confirmed we chose the right place. With their warning about the serving size disregarded? we ordered a Schnitzel Parm sandwich, a Schnitzel sandwich with frite sauce and a generous order of homemade fries.One word AMAZING! A massive tender and lightly crispy pork schnitzel had to be folded three times to fit on their fresh-baked bun. The taste is to die for! Their fresh-cut fries were a major treat. What is even more surprising was the value! So the next time you find yourself within 100 KMs of Port Hope, head to the Schnitzel Shack - they won't disappoint.

Gald we found this gem one day. Was not expecting the serving sizes they have. More than enough for two ppl.Sandwich was great, sauerkraut was awesome and fries were good.Definitely will come back again to let my friends try it.
Amazing value for the amount of food! Always end up with left overs. Enough food to feed a family on a budget. Always worth the trip and the owners are all lovely people. Excited for a second location in Lindsay - will be visiting that a lot when we are at the cottage!Vegetarian options: Eggplant as an option.Parking: Decent amount of parking in the lot and road
I got the chicken sandwich and topped it with the parmesan. It was really good. Tender, sauce was delicious, price was normal and the sandwich was huge. I also tried the poutine. It was one of the best (and I've tried a lot of poutine)

In town for hockey tournament, passed by a couple timed and decided to try them out for lunch. What a pleasant surprise!! Not only was the food delicious (schnitzel sandwich, fries, poutine, kids meal), the servings are on the large size but the prices are not. Excellent value for your money, super-friendly service and a great atmosphere!! We'll be stopping in again when in the area!!Kid-friendliness: Large portion kids meal with schnitzel strips and fries
