Stopped in with the family on a Saturday afternoon. There were seven of us. Food and service were great! We'll be back soon.

The food is good. The diner ambience is also really good. Well, I don’t understand one thing as to if we order a combo, and if we are willing to share, the restaurant doesn’t lets us. They charge an extra 9.99 for a head. I didn’t understand the logic . Since combo can definitely be shared among two, but why an extra charge. So we cancelled the combo, and we ordered sandwich and quarter chicken. Both was good though.

The food was fresh , the chicken was moist, but wrap lacked buffalo sauce. Homade fries were good. For desert, I ordered coconut cream pie, and it was delicious.

TAKE OUT REVIEWMy family ordered from Haugen's on their 2nd day of seasonal opening. We ordered 3 quarter chicken meals and 2 half chicken meals, all with fries and the country harvest sauce. Wee ordered 1 side coleslaw. We were all VERY satisfied with the price, taste, portion size and ease of ordering/pick up.We have dined inside previously as well as enjoyed it, but this time, it seemed even better than before!Looking forward to the next time!

Although this is a staple in the area, I didn't find it worth the hype. The food was slightly above mediocre, but the quantities for the pricing was not in line with that similar restaurants would charge...there's definitely a premium here, but I'm not sure why. The service was OK, the food OK, the restaurant OK. Try it to say you've tried it.

Changing my review. I've been coming here since high school so about a decade or so. Prices increasing I understand, everything is expensive now. I usually come and share a plate and a slice of pie with my mom, this time I brought my girlfriend to do the same. They now have a policy where you have to order one meal each or else there will be a charge. This place has turned from a nice reliable family restaurant to a blatant cash grab. See you never.

Exceptional cuisine with generous portion sizes! Ideal for those with hearty appetites – you won't leave unsatisfied. The waitress was delightfully pleasant, and I have no complaints whatsoever!

Not good slow staff uncooked food. Very sad. Skip go to Swiss chalet. Same food cheaper price.

Saw them on the food network and decided to try them for dinner when I was out that end of the GTA. Feels like a mom and pop version of Swiss chalet. I had the chicken and ribs which were very good and fairly priced. I found their portion sizes to be bigger than the Swiss.

Very disappointed. We brought our two kids (12 & 8) in for dinner for their first time as they love ribs so they wanted to try. They do not offer a kids rib meal so we asked for a full rack meal for them to share and a empty side plate. We were told it would be an extra $7 for the plate surcharge.....for what? They would not have been able to eat ribs and full side of fries and bun themselves which is why we wanted an empty plate so they could share the $30 meal. Such a silly upcharge for no extra food. Needless to say we paid for our drinks and we ended up leaving and went elsewhere. We won't be back.Kid-friendliness: I don't recommend for kids.

Nothing about this place is good. A group of us travelling back to to Toronto and decided to stop for lunch. When we travel through small towns we do our best to avoid the chains and support local eateries. This was a mistake. Everything about this place is well past its expiry date - banal and unappealing. Our waitress looked bored and lifeless and the food was beyond disgusting. In particular, the chicken soap. It was gawd awful. I was so looking forward to a big bowl of hot homemade chicken soup but what I was served with was a tiny bowl of lukewarm brown-coloured water with a few pasta shells peaking out from under the sour tasting chicken. I took two spoons fulls and stopped. Then I tried the chicken sandwich with fries. What a colossal disappointment. Again, old and sour tasting bits of chicken. It was cold and not seasoned. Very dry. The bun was not toasted or buttered. The dipping sauce was ice cold and smelled like dirty feet and the fries were cold and limp. I took one bite and stopped. I just couldn't stomach the smell or taste. The other half of our party ordered the chicken bacon wraps that were edible. The worse part of this experience is that about an hour after eating here I got the worst stomach cramps followed by diarrhea. Don't eat here.
