Is this place even operating? We called ahead to check if it's open for dine in and no one picked up (no voice mail either). We decided to take a chance based on the Google opening hours and went, the lights were on, there was someone sitting inside, but the door was locked and no one came to the door to tell us what's going on even though the person inside clearly saw us. Please update the hours on Google so people don't make a fruitless trip...

Love this place! Awesome local ramen shop.I've been getting ramen here since before the pandemic. Unfortunately, they had to temporarily close when it happened but now they're back open for takeout!Delicious flavours at a very good price.$10.99 per bowl INCLUDES 4x cha shu, bamboo shoots, 1 egg, Naruto, and others! Crazy good value. My favourite is the Spicy Pork Miso, highly recommend!

Got take-out from them for the first time and I'll definitely be coming back. The portion is big and the toppings are plentiful and tasty. I like that the cha siu is lean with just a little fat. The broth is delicious and not overly salty. Great value for money.

Honestly its really good. The soup base is not salty and the ramen is chewy. The chicken is not oily and tasty. Strongly recommend others to give it a try. Will definitely come back for ramen after the pandemic

New ramen spot that just opened up 3 weeks ago! We came here to try something a little new, as Sansotei is our usual go to spot, safe to say we were really happy to have tried this place out! It was pretty empty when we came, so we got to choose any seat. There's a good amount of seating available, with bar stool seating by the front and booths/tables at the back. The interior is bright and has nice Japanese inspired decor as well. Service was 10/10! Our server was quick to bring us our menus, answer our questions and give us time to figure out what we wanted. You're also given a jug with lemon water which you pour yourself, so you don't need to wait for a refill. We ended up sharing a Pork Black Garlic Ramen with thick noodles, and added extra pork. The noodles looked similar to the style you'd find in instant ramen, but the texture and taste were really good. The pork especially was the best we've had in ramen (super soft and chewy!). The toppings and egg also went really well with the ramen, and for the price the size of the dish was worth it and could easily feed one person without being too much. The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is the broth was slightly fishy, which I'm sure was bc of the seaweed that came with the ramen. It didn't taste bad and in fact we finished the broth, but it did make me miss the normal creaminess of pork broth. Overall, this place is great! I would definitely recommend trying it out if you're tired of the usual ramen or just want to try something new. We would definitely come back to try more :))

This place sprung up without any loud noise or specials and I was pleasantly surprised. The interior is nice and bright and airy though seating is limited. They have a bar stool area near the front and tavle seating further in. We were efficiently seated and the menu is quite simple. In the way in you will see their noodle making machine through a glass window. They serve 3 kinds of noodle, and we tried the thin and thick style. Both styles were surprisingly similar and indistinguishable. The noodles themselves were well done, and had a nice chew and bounce. The broth was nice, not overly salty which was good. The cha siu was very soft and broke apart. The portion size was a tad on the smaller side, but as someone else mentioned I was able to get a noodle refill for free. The price is right though standing at about $9.99 a bowl, which is very fairly priced compared to competitors. I would come back, but also I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Most of the other Ramen chains in the GTA are international brands. After so many years, I guess it's about time for a local low cost copy cat to enter the market. You can get a bowl of original pork broth for just $9.99. This is slightly lower than other brand shops. This is what happens when you adapt with "Chinese" level of service and Chinese level of supply chain efficiency. I found that the broth tastes just as good as the branded ones. At the end of the day, that's what matters. The noodle texture is good too. Every store does their meat a little differently. This one I think they boil and then blow torch to give it a char texture outside. It's pretty good. I'm a believer of getting good value and cutting the fluff. I don't really find it necessary to be greeted in Japanese by Japanese staff when I enter a ramen shop. So if I'm in the area and crave ramen, this is definitely a consideration. But don't expect this place to do anything groundbreaking. Their menu options are very standard and most likely will stay that way.

Came here for lunch after I've read the great reviews from my fellow yelpers. I had the pork original, was amazing!! One of the best ramen places I've ever been to! However I feel like there wasn't enough noodles. Other than that the ramen was super super delicious! I'd definitely come back! Definitely a little gem in this plaza!!

In house-made ramen noodles, solid broth without being overly salty, no MSG in their ramen - that's all you really need!

Ichiban Umai newly opened this week and we decided to try it out during their soft open. It isn't busy yet, but the ramen scene sure is getting crowded here.

The best ramen ever, real bone broth

Great new ramen place! I especially enjoy their freshly made ramen noodles, it comes in thick or thin and has a nice bouncy texture. Portion size is gd, comes with ample meat and 1 whole egg cut in two. The only thing I think can be improved is the marinade on the pork, it was a bit too peppery for my taste. The store offers free refills on the noodles which is great. I like that the broth is not too salty. The chicken karage had a nice light batter and good sauce.

Aside from all the spelling mistakes in the menu, I must say this is a pretty decent ramen place. The soup is amazing! Not overly salty and no MSG - I did not feel thirsty after downing the entire bowl of soup. The noodles are made daily at the restaurant and has a nice bounce and chewy texture to them - which is what I look for in ramen. The pork belly melts in your mouth. Karaage was lightly coated and crispy - yum! Service was great - they made sure water was filled and made sure we were happy with the food. One thing I noticed that was missing on the menu was kae-dama aka extra noodles. Luckily the amount of noodles was just perfect and I wasn't overly stuffed nor was I hungry after the meal. I did not need my kae-dama after all.
