Best sushi I ever had in a long time!!!!! Fixed my sushi craving, thanks Mitsui. Best in Richmond Hill by far2024 March update"After an extensive renovation, my beloved Japanese culinary haven in Richmond Hill/Vaughan has returned in all its glory. The ambiance now exudes an authentic Japanese theme, adorned with exquisite decorations that transport diners to the heart of Japan.Opting for takeout due to time constraints, we embarked on a familiar culinary journey, only to be met with delightful surprises on the revamped menu. My palate was treated to the sensational flavors of their new poke bowl, reminiscent of the ones savored in Hawaii. Each bite, from the luscious fatty tuna to the delicate salmon roe, sang with freshness, perfectly complemented by impeccably fluffy rice.Meanwhile, my wife indulged in her customary Tonkatsu (Pork Katsu), and her satisfaction was palpable. Noteworthy was the meticulous scoring of the fish on their sushi, a testament to their unwavering commitment to culinary excellence. Beyond mere aesthetics, this technique enhances the texture and mouthfeel, elevating each sushi experience to new heights.Returning to this culinary gem was a delightful surprise, blending nostalgia with innovative twists that captivated our senses. Truly a culinary journey worth revisiting time and again."

i know mitsui is currently under renovation but i just wanted to say that i miss their food so much. i’ve been supporting them since i was 16 (i am now turning 22 lol) and their food/service has never disappointed me. i go regularly bc their prices are affordable (i recommend their lunch & dinner bento boxes!) and the quality is amazing.considering how the decline of quality in a lot of restaurants/takeout food places nowadays (even grocery stores and cooking ur own food), it’s nice to have mitsui that is consistent in their pricing and quality.if ur a new customer and when they reopen, i recommend trying the following items:- curry chicken or curry pork cutlet bento box (this can be lunch or dinner)- vegetable tempura bento box- salmon pizza- moscow roll- tornado roll (i sometimes customize it with mango sauce but their standard special sauce is good too!)- chirashi don (i customize this with all salmon sashimi but that’s just my personal preference)- dynamite roll!! (they have a lunch special where u can get 2 rolls for $9.9 and i always go w their spicy salmon and dynamite)i can’t wait for them to reopen??

Delicious food. Low price. Everything is perfect. Please dont change your prices ??( we already started eating in the picture )In depth: Combination of the perfectly cooked rice mixed with the taste of fresh eel added with juicy cucumber and new soy beans freshly made into sauce. Octopus was a little chewy but thats how octopus tastes. Price was 30$ for a 2 person meal.

Well unfortunately this place has changed a lot since 2005, while service and atmosphere was top notch, the food itself was basic sushi, but the reason for 1 star is because it was rolled so loosely, to the point it was falling apartParking: Plentiful

One word. Bad.From the water tasting off, the funky tasting miso soup, watered down udon noodle dish, and weak sushi rolls.I don't normally do a review, but this was bad. We paid our bill in full and left with all dishes uneaten. Only this that was acceptable was the Diet Coke. This isn't the Mitsui it used to be. Service was slow, and no one else was there.Again, Bad.

"Delicious Food & Service Is Consistently Great"We have been going to this amazing restaurant since it opened. It became part of our dine in/out routine of this place. Honestly, this is a significant place for the locals. With incredibly professional and attentive served by Mitsui's chefs and staffs. The foods are absolutely just phenomenal and always made with fresh ingredients in a reasonably priced. To me, I would highly recommended of the Large Sashimi Boat, Mitsui Roll, Sunomono Salad, Assorted Tempura Bento Box and Salmon Pizza. Must try these out, they are so "Delicious".Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese Foods!

Ordered M5 combo, worst sushi I have ever. The fish quality was bad. Tuna was in full red color. Never goes back.

Good quality but not very exotic. I was expecting more when we were ordering non all you can eat menu but it is fresh, delicious and good staff.

Ordered a platter to share - it was good portion for two. The quality is decent and the sushi is affordable.
