Trying out this place for the first time. The fish is very fresh. The chirashi lunch set that I got came with a udon. I am very happy with the quality of the food and the portion. The place is very clean too. The only thing is just that the place is hard to find because the entrance is on the side, and the PROJECT FISH brand is not displayed on the outside at all.

Food was actually very good! Also had the Sesame Bomb roll, but no pictures since it was sooooo good! Previous reviews said that the place size was cut in half, which is accurate, but the place is very clean and the food very good!

Project Fish has been on our list for a while now but we never got around to visiting - glad we finally did.Easy to miss, as they're nestled inside the same building as Brown Donkatsu. We ordered the small sashimi set, PF omakase sushi plate, salmon tacos, salmon oshi, sesame bomb roll, and a few other a la carte nigiri. Comfortably enough for 4 people, and the kitchen was nice enough to send out some extra pieces throughout the night.Everything was superb, and plated nicely. Our host, Sophia, was wonderful and checked up on us regularly. Can't wait to come back.

Project fish is definitely one of our top 3 sushi places in York Region! We love ordering their platters because its good quality, fresh, cute presentation and reasonable price! We wanted to try their new omakase boxes because I just gave up on cooking - who can relate? lol It's not your everyday meal but definitely worth getting for special occasions.

It was our first time going to this location. It was easy to make reservations and plenty of parking. The service and food was amazing even on valentines day! The tart and oshi are a must get when you are here. The beef taco shell wasn't my favorite but the filling is delicious, probably skip this for next time. We also got the mixed tempura which were so so fresh and the batter was so good! If you wanted to save some money they do have an option to pay in cash and save 15%.

If you’re getting sick and tired of the same old sushi, you got to visit this restaurant! They have such fresh, unique and delicious sushi options & the packaging makes the experience so much more fun to eat! They offer high quality omakase on the go boxes for your convenience to dine at home (which is perfect especially during lockdowns). We hope you love this spot as much as we did, 10/10 recommend!!

Came here for dinner since I was craving sushi. This place has been on my list for a long time and I finally made the effort to go. First things first, the place itself. It was properly decorated with Christmas trees with lights. Not overbearing but just right. Along with the casual music in background, it made the dining experience pleasant. For the food, all I can say is that the fish is fresh and tastes good. This is what I expect from their price point. Shout out to the Chirashi Tart, didn't expect it to be massive.Overall, I'm glad I checked this place out and checked it off my bucket list.Disclaimer: Review is based on my experience at time of visit. Your experience could be totally different based on many situation.

Tried the omakase to go menu, and loved every bit of it! Project fish has a knack for presenting everything so well, and the takeout is no exception! The fresh ingredients really show, and every single bite measured up to the usual experience here. ✨

Always heard a lot about Project Fish, but my frugal self couldn't bring myself to try it. Fast forward to the present day, where we had a special family occasion so we booked a table of 10 (note: they automatically added a 18% gratuity for our party).First glance at the outside of the building, the place looks a little run down and sketchy, but inside has a completely different vibe. Going here for dinner around 6 pm, the place was quite well lit. After being told that they accidentally wrote down our reservation for the wrong day, but were still able to accomodate us, we got brought to the far end of the restaurant. Our table was long, seating five in each side, making it difficult to chat and/or share dishes... But it did feel spacious. The chairs were plastic (and clear), not the most comfortable arrangement. We sat down, got offered water, and scanned the QR code for their menu (which by the way, is quite small). Our waitress was very friendly and receptive to questions, but I also wondered if she was quite new as for many of the questions, she either has to ask the chef or her colleagues.Food-wise, things came out at good temperature, with beautiful presentation. Some items took longer than we hoped (like one of our udon and the teriyaki chicken) but within reasonable timing. It was just a little awkward when everyone had gotten their food minus one or two people who just sat and waited. All the dishes were flavorful and delicious, and decently portions (considering the price). I was initially worried about small portions for a big dollar sign, like some other elevated restaurants.Cleanliness was probably my biggest concern - behind our table were some shelving and though food may not be placed there or the space may not be used, the staff should take care to clean the area as there were visible dead flies, which isn't very appetizing. As well, despite the restaurant being well lit, the women's washroom was extremely dark and with a quick peep upwards, you could see a lot of spider webs draping above. Scary!Overall a nice place that is meant to be elevated as you can tell by their decor and menu, but could be better executed in terms of their furniture choice and cleanliness. If I'm paying top dollar for my food, I would expect no flies to be buzzing around my head and meal... As well as be comfortable and relaxed during my stay.In the end, this would not be a regular spot for me - more of a special occasions type place but I think there's better options out there.

We've always heard good things about Project Fish and finally had a chance to try it out! We got the Tuna Tacos, Ebi Fritters, Signature Sushi Platter and Neo Tokyo Roll. Everything was plated beautifully! We also paired it with a glass of the Pellet Estate Rose Wine. The food was delicious! Interior design and ambiance was really nice as well, modern and stylish. Only complaint would be cleanliness. Throughout our whole meal, there were fruit flies circling our table and the restaurant, very unappetizing.

I have been to their North York location a few years back and although it was decent, nothing really enticed me to go back. Fast forward a few years, some friends wanted to try this place for lunch and hence on we go! My boyfriend and I shared their chirashi tart and their signature sushi. The signature sushi came with 6 pieces of nigiri and 6 pieces of aburi oshi. There were 2 pieces of salmon, mackerel and shrimp aburi oshi. My favourite one was the shrimp one as the mayo sauce was creamy and the touch of truffle elevated the flavour. I didn't get to try all the different nigiri as I was sharing but out of the pieces I had, the hamachi/yellowtail was my favourite. The chirashi tart was like a layer cake, with rice, avocado and spicy sashimi mix. It was topped thinly sliced cucumber, crab meat and masago. I didn't get to have much of the crab meat, so I am not entirely sure, but I think it was real shreded crab meat instead of kani (imitation crab meat the is shredded). The tart was definitely very pretty asethically! However, I found the rice ratio slightly on the high side as it was densely packed. Maybe they can either lessen the amount of rice so it is thinner, or increase the thickness of the avocado or spicy sashimi. Since the latter method will increase cost, maybe the firmer would be better if they want to charge the same price. The service was really good. They let us change the timing if our reservation on very short notice.

The best place for torched sushi in York Region. Beautiful fresh fish.

This is the second time we've been to Project Fish and we've tried both their North York Location and their Richmond locations. We always get their Signature Sushi where you get 6 pieces of sushi and 6 pieces of pressed sushi. Our favorite pieces are their pressed Mackerel sushi and their hamachi sushi. However, honestly, every piece was super fresh and delicious. The plating of the sushi was also so pretty and the sushi pieces looked so delicate. We also added on a side of tebasaki chicken wings. We love how crispy the chicken wings were and the sweet sauce it had for it too. It really made me crave for Korean fried chicken and I would say their batter was extra crispy! Best combination for a date night dinner. The ambiance and mood there was so soft and warm. I also enjoyed the service there! Everyone was so nice and also our food came out quite quickly too. I highly recommend coming here for a date or celebratory night.

If you like Aburi sushi (torched fish) then you've come to the right place. This restaurant specializes in Aburi sushi, with lots of options. The dishes are mouthwatering. We always get the salmon and the shrimp. The eel is good too. Covid restrictions are in effect, I felt safe dining here.

Tried this place on Sunday night, good experience. The indoor design and decoration is pretty, the presentation of dishes are beyond expectation. I’d say for presentation like this I would like to pay more than the price on the tag. It was 70CAD for two people.Tuna taco is a must try.Everything tastes fine, would recommend this place for dating and for friends hangout.
