Very good! Ordered the mango pomelo sago!

Very bad experience. Does not even deserve 1 star. Black pearl was not ready and mangoes were stale for mango cream sago drink. Will never go there and would not recommend this place. And also very expensive.?

Very clean-looking establishment. Service was good. They followed COVID guidelines well which was also good. We got the taro egg waffles with black sesame ice cream. Taro egg waffles didn't really taste like taro - you could barely taste the taro and the inside of the waffle was only a faint lilac. Black sesame ice cream was good though. I guess we probably didn't order the best items? Apparently the sago and the other traditional Chinese desserts are really good. Unfortunately we came when the weather was hot hence why we got the ice cream and waffle combo. I am willing to come back to try the sago and other desserts though.

Sugar hut has amazing drinks. Everything is freshly made and tastes amazing. They have good quality ingredients inside and all items are made with care. I would recommend the mango sago bubble tea !!!

Amazing food the taro egg waffles taste amazing. The only thing that I don't like is the time I have to wait and the very fluctuating open and closing times .

Love this mom and pops dessert and snacks shop. I havent been for a while but I've been enough to say that they are quite clean and quick with desserts. I like their combinations with the dessert soups and ice creams. I definitely recommend a visit but they are limited on tables. The snacks are pretty tasty as well!

I love this place- service food they serve Chinese style desserts like sweet soups. Personal favorites are green bean soup, black sesame soup and purple rice and coconut milk soup. Can get quite busy, especially at night and the store's not super big so you might not get a seat.THEY'RE STILL OPEN DURING COVID19! Quality has gone down a bit during this time though, not gona lie

Quick update, based on take out ... Still a solid place for the traditional Chinese soup desserts but the portion size is a bit skimpy for the price... Also, the ginger soup was a bit water downed this time.----Finally, a solid Chinese dessert spot.Interior: Clean and simple - even the washrooms were cleanService: When we went there was an older gentleman who provided pleasant and prompt service. Apparently, they ground their own nuts/seeds for the Chinese soups. Order: 1) Hot black sesame soup: Isn't thick and gloppy like others. The texture was very smooth. Hopefully this means they don't add unnecessary ingredients to the soup. The taste was excellent, not too sweet and great black sesame flavour. 2) Hot ginger soup with black sesame filled dumplings: The soup has a great ginger spice that hits the back of your throat but it dissipates quickly. The black sesame dumplings were EXCELLENT. I've never had a wrapper (for this type of dumpling) this thin! It is very soft yet has enough integrity to keep the black sesame filling inside. Once again, not too sweet at all. Con: bit skimpy on the portion size for the priceDefinitely will return.

Sugar Hut has amazing reviews on Yelp. I was really looking forward to trying Sugar Hut because of the rave reviews. After a long drive from Scarborough, my friend and I finally arrived. We were both a little disappointed in the experience. The interior is clean and homey. Service was prompt. I had the walnut paste soup ($5.75) and she opted for the sesame paste glutinous balls with ginger broth ($6). We both felt the walnut paste was not aromatic. My friend was not a fan of the consistency. Sesame balls were slightly better but again, average. She jokingly said it was a little more than a dollar per glutinous ball. I really wanted to fall in love with Sugar Hut. Unfortunately, the hype was far to high. Sugar Hut did not meet our expectations. And so, the search for authentic high quality Chinese dessert in Toronto continues. Perhaps, I will visit again to try the coconut sago cream with mango that everyone raves about, but for now, we will have to settle with this experience.

First time coming to sugar hut and was not happy with the results. I ordered the coconut mango sago cream with grass jelly expecting for it to be a semi solid dessert like the picture. However, I got a drink and they messed up my order. Although, mango is not jn season, the mangos were sour, the sago was no fresh. Im rating this drink a one star because the drink was not what i expected ad it is not good.

Kinda small cozy place for a cup of tea and delicious dessert on a freezing day. The Sesame ice cream is delicious, with the red bean ball in warm soup. The soup is not too sweet as what I want. The tea smell really good and not sweet as well. The service here is ok. Will come back for another cup of tea.
