I love this spot! They prepare excellent dishes, they have a rich menu, The chef in that place is a real authority in the kitchen, I like very much tasting all their dishes. The dishes are consistently fresh, the attitude towards the customers is very good too. I often go to this restaurant and I was never discontended. I recommend this place.

Amazing atmosphere and very welcoming service. The food was crisp and delightful. Will clearly recommend this place to friends. Fair prices and big meals. Great job.

This restaurant has got the worst business conduct ever. We made a reservation for their largest party room for 20 of us a month ago. The restaurant called to confirm we had 20 guest and assured that I would get the large party room given I made the reservation ahead of time. The restaurant called again asking if we could fit into a smaller room (half the size) since they have another party of 30 guest that will take the larger party room. I'm just really fustrated and disappointed. Never ever going back again and strongly recommend you to not go there.

Under new management, easily best hot pot option and personal service in Markham. AYCE lamb ribs and skewers included with hot pot, as week as soft drinks

Excellent customer service. The food was unique and tasty. You can have either hotpot or a la Carey. This restaurant is attached to a bowling centre, which makes it great eating before or after bowling. I would recommend.

Steam pot, it's our second time here. The food has been great, we ordered the same things after trying it out the first time. The service has been good for both times we were here!

The advertisement about their hot pot offering is very exaggerated in the TorontoDiary wechat account. Very limited food selection for ayce beef hotpot- the beef is cut from frozen meat not fresh meat.

the restaurant really didn't need any chef. all the items you order is steamed on a pot right on the table. there are two layers of the pot, where the top layer cooks all the dishes you order and the bottom layer is the ingredients for soup. once all the seafood is cooked and eaten, the bottom layer soup will be ready. im ok with bland tasting food in general, but this place is just so bland i couldn't even take it. the soup has zero taste. it had some vegetable taste and seafood fragrance but it literally tastes like nothing! i end up adding spicy soy sauce to the soup which for sure defeats the whole purpose! the only items that required some cooking are the popcorn chicken and the coconut purée for dessert. the coconut purée dessert is very good!

After watching one of Mikey Chen's (strictly dumpling) YouTube vids "9 layer SEAFOOD TOWER! Congee STEAM HOTPOT in Hong Kong" I thought to myself, great now I have to go back to Hong Kong to try this. Also, how have I not been exposed to this meal experience before?! Having already booked the rest of my vay k days (to go elsewhere) and with the current protests happening in HK; I felt my dreams of the 9 layer seafood tower was an impossible reality. Not wanting to give up, I turned to google and tried many variations of his YT vid title to describe the elusive meal I was endlessly searching for. "Congee steam hotpot Toronto", "9 layer seafood tower Toronto", "seafood tower Toronto"... I was losing hope. Weeks later, I tried again. Finally! A hit! "steam pot Toronto" I had found my food unicorn. Price: 3 ppl in our party. Ended up getting the set for 4 ppl. This costed us $168 before tax and tip. Food: Sauce station - Lacking. They lost one star because of this. They had the usual, soy, minced garlic, green onion, cilantro, sesame oil, white pepper, a few other sauces. I felt like they were missing some key sauce options; red vinegar, Chinese bbq sauce, sesame paste, lemon wedges, black pepper, salt. If they had these options, I probably would have pushed them to 5 stars. You mix your own sauces similar to hot pot style. Scallop with vermicelli - The lady asked us if we wanted garlic, we said yes. This looked impressive, but the taste wasn't really there. No sweetness. Vancouver crab, clams & Lobster - Served as separate courses. All were clean, juicy and plump. You can really appreciate the flavour of the the fresh crab and fresh lobster since it's not cooked in anything other than the steam. No sauce or spices are added. Easy to eat, did not have to struggle with the shells. Pork hock - This was a pleasant surprise. The different texture and seasoning was a welcome in between break from the seafood. The cumin smell when the dish arrived was really strong, but it wasn't overwhelming when actually consuming it. Pickled daikon, Tofu, Sweet and sour pork, Steamed dumplings - Filler dishes in the set course. Not bad, not great. Steam veggies - Fresh and clean, like everything else. Came with pumpkin/squash, cabbage and taro. This was nice to dip into the sauces they did have. Steamed congee - Pumpkin/squash, rice, lobster head (from lobster course). I keep saying /squash because I felt this was actually squash and they were calling it pumpkin. Each courses reminents of steamed juices drip down into the simmering congee; adding many layers of flavour. The congee was light, yet creamy. We were too full to completely enjoy this last part. Service: The servers have to be attentive if you order this set menu because the food is cooked at the table by your server. For several courses they will place the food in the steamer, set the timer and turn it on. Once done, they will come by to turn it off and remove the lid. This happens many times for each steam course. The English speaking lady was very kind. She offered us hot tea and cold water. When I needed to take my pre-emptive reactine (don't judge me), she offered to bring me another cup (although I said no thank you). They also clean your plates per course or provide a new one. I didn't feel lk the service or presence of our server was overbearing. Payment: Paid cash. No cash discount offered. Value: So much food. Worth the price imo. Next time, I think I would have been happy doing the set for 2 ppl ($88) and add something else a la carte. Overall impression: I would come back, for less food and for an early dinner again because I'm anti social. I must say I enjoyed having only one other table being served the same time as us. Experience was ig worthy and I'm glad seeing a YT vid pushed me to find this unique place. Now I can check it off my list and stop looking at flights to hk. If you want an

We ordered the set menu for 2 ($88) and also ordered steamed crab with sticky rice ($40) which was so much food! It was enough for 4 people to eat, so we ended up with a wonderful feast for us 3. We chose the pork hock to start which was lightly seasoned in cumin. It was so succulent and delightfully delicious that I could not stop saying how tasty it was. It was a huge surprise because I am normally not a fan of any type of pork hock. For our steamed seafood dinner, the server puts all the food in the steamer for you in intervals. Each time the food is done steaming, the steamer on your table top beeps and your server comes to serve you the food before putting the next round of food to steam. The first round was mussels and clams then oysters from New Brunswick which had just been brought in. Everything was so fresh and so healthy steamed simply with garlic. You can also help yourself to various sauces you can make yourself at the sauce bar but I did not need it for anything we ate. The flavours on their own were outstanding. The steamed duck breast on fried taro course was remarkable; the smoky flavour of the duck was perfect and not too strong. It is something I do not think I have ever had before. There was a also a course of corn, taro, eggplant, chinese cabbage, pumpkin and dumplings which were perfect to eat after all that seafood and meat. Our crab with sticky rice was the best crab rice I had ever eaten. The sticky rice with the onion, ginger and taste of the freshly steamed crab on top was fantastic. I have had crab rice in various restaurants but nothing near as good as this one that night. Lastly, beneath the steamer there is rice that collects all the juices from all the steamed food above which then turns into perfect jook (congee). There was so much jook, that we actually had to leave most of it behind since we were already so stuffed. After forcing ourselves to finish eating as much as we could, we were given coconut pudding jelly as dessert. I loved eating at this place so much that I declared that I wanted to come back for my birthday in February. I wish I discovered Yu steam pot sooner! I have been missing out. Everyone who loves seafood, you must eat here. It is such an enjoyable experience with the best food. Also, I really hope this place sticks around since we were the only ones eating dinner here the entire time we were there. FOLLOW me on instagram @beast.it for more reviews!

Amazing idea with such promising possibilities. Unfortunately falls terribly short with execution. Lack of seafood. Clear cheap ingredients and fillers (8 pieces of pork feet in the seafood set for 2 people). Poor layout (seats too far away from table). Hope when this place closes another steam pot restaurant will attempt to execute this idea again properly.

If I could give them 4.5 stars I would.
