So let’s start from the beginning I walk into this location I get to the counter to order my meals. As I’m ordering my meals, the manager was taking my order behind a plexiglass screen. Where there were a few small advertisement signs were located. My child was patiently waiting for their mother to complete her order.Super excited about the kung fu panda 4 crowns displayed conveying to me that there’s a connection with this restaurant and this film where he is super excited. My child is stimulated by the advertisement signs, excited by the environment. (we don’t dine in often)These small advertisement signs were at the counter. My child was touching them, laying them flat on the counter, standing them up, laying flat on the counter and standing them up.I guess this irritated the manager, and in the middle of taking my order he had to ask my child to stop touching the small advertisement signs and leaned his hands over to gesture, putting the signs down.Where I replied, my apologies my child identifies being on the spectrum and he is trying to patiently wait and is touching the signs. I prompted my child to stop this behaviour… which they did..to please this manager.I felt there was an insensitive and overreacting attitude towards an innocent behaviour but I’m just the customer what do I know.This is my experience and my thoughts on the matter take it for what it is….next time maybe be a little more sensitive to the fact that disabilities are not always visually Identifiable. And that environments can be overstimulated for children who identify with disabilities who are just trying to enjoy their experience of dining in a restaurant just like everyone else. And that sometimes fidgeting is uncontrollable but helps to regulate and calm your self down.After this experience, it has left a negative impact on dining in atmosphere. And to top it all off, my partner went to the counter to self serve our family ketchup into the tiny little Dixie cups like we have done many times before. To be told by another employee of this location that it is “ against the LAW for him to serve himself ketchup” and they needed to be the ones that served this condiment.Being quite knowledgable about hospitality and food services. I am unaware of any Ontario food legislation or regulations in regard to self serving ketchup being against the law.Not only were tables, completely covered in food and in cleaned which we sanitized with Lysol wipes. The floors where we were seated were covered in something incredibly sticky that my shoes stuck to the floor so bad my shoes slipped right off my foot.Needless to say, my experience was unpleasant. I won’t be dining in at a Burger King establishment. If this is the customer service you’ll receive, be told false information about self serving condiments, and the Quality of sanitation is questionable.
