By far the worst sushi experience I ever had.I recently tried the monthly omakase set at Oo-Kinza Fish House and unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The fish seemed to have been freshly defrosted, and the salmon had an off-putting taste. It's disheartening when establishments prioritize influencer marketing over investing in the quality of their ingredients.

Pros: Nice atmosphere and presentation of the food was great.Cons: Smells like old grease as soon as you walk into the place. Food was too expensive for what it is and one of my scallops had sand in it. They also charge you extra for paying by credit which considering their prices feels ridiculous.

Ordered the Kobe Beef clay pot rice for $68 and it was beyond horrible. The “Kobe” beef was chewy, cut in various sizes, I mean, it wouldn’t have paid even $10 for it.The only saving grace was the sauce. The tea was watered down.Honestly, lunch was a complete write off.Nothing about this experience was Japanese.

Tried their lunch special Omakase Bloom, which was a pretty reasonable price ($38) for the amount of food.Best part was the snow crab and shrimp dish. All other dishes were just ok as they masked the fish with sauce.Definitely presentation is their strong point in terms of how their food comes out, as well as the decor of the restaurant.

Small, cozy Japanese fish house in Scarborough. The restaurant gives off Osaka, Japan vibes but sell upscale donburi and sushi/sashimi platters. Everything I ordered was really fresh and well prepared. The platter I ordered was beautifully arranged. The Japanese Uni is worth ordering. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The only draw back is the chairs/tables, although it fits their decor, it's not the most comfortable or practical setting to be eating such expensive platters. Be prepared to spent upwards of $50 on a meal, not cheap but definitely worth its price. Would come back again.Went a second time, got the Kobe Beef Sukiyaki bowl (enough for two people), the salmon and Japanese Uni Don, and the torched salmon Don. All 3 dishes were really good, especially loved the Japanese uni. If you ever want uni, I highly recommend coming here as long as you're willing to spend a few pretty dollars.

Went there for birthday to try because of all the hype (after they moved to across the same plaza). They did a great job marketing and displaying beautiful food. We tried many dishes on the menu (Sukiyaki, $300platter, eel done...etc...). The food was alright...but there are many places for better food and quality with more reasonable price.
I had previously gotten takeout from Oo-Kinza Fish House when they were at their old location (across the plaza, across Sam Woo BBQ) and the fish at that time was super fresh - and it's still the same now! I got their New Year's special, which was $38 for a full set of assorted items. Their normal menu was also available, but it's quite pricey for your average Japanese restaurant. Everything was very fresh though, and filled me up quite a bit. Quite comparable to some of the sushi I've had in Japan! The service was phenomenal, and the ambiance/decor of the restaurant itself is very unique and IG-worthy. If you've got the extra $$, strongly recommend!

Extremely overpriced. Sushi is fresh but the skewers (pork, chicken and beef) were really not great. I would not recommend this place.
Imagine travelling to Japan without leaving leaving Toronto, that's how amazing this place looks and feels. You would think you are in Japan. I loved it here. The food tasted really good and the fish was very fresh. The prices are a little bit expensive but the reason is because the fish is so fresh.Parking: The parking lot

Submerged in Tokyo alleyway! The owner spent so much effort decorating this place and put a lot of attention to details. One of a kind in Toronto! A must try! The chef has put his creativity into the design of the liMited time set meal. Love it!
Very beautiful setup, although unfortunately everything on the menu is very very expensive. The cheapest meal I saw was $26 but then it was $35+ and most meals are $50+.Our waitress was nice and very fast and our food and drinks arrived quickly which was good.I ended up paying over $50 for a meal I have had before at a different place for $15-$20.If you want the experience, go.If you want to save money, don’t.
