Excited to return to this restaurant after their previous location closed and they moved here a few years ago. This is a similar menu as its predecessor, a restaurant called Oriental Gourmet (潮陽食軒) at McCowan and highway 7, and previously at Kennedy and Steeles. As other reviews already mentioned, this is now a dining room at the ground floor of a senior building. If you are looking for authentic Chiu chow style dishes, this place is quite tasty, with generous portions and good value. The old lunch menu is no longer available.

The food is disappointing. Most dishes are not hot and just warm. Some dishes (such as duck) are very salty while others (like fried rice and vegetables) don’t have much taste at all. The speed is very slow. This is one of the worst Chinese dinner I had for the last few years.

The chef's attitude towards food is completely different from before when he handles food. It would be better not to do it until he improves in the future.

Hidden gem in scar, quite literally. Follow the signs towards the back of the parking lot.We had excellent food for a party of 11. Food was delicious and flavourful, unlike some of the other reviews. And service was friendly and timely. We would come back to try some of their other items that require preordering

Great place for Chinese food! Had a set meal here for a table of 10 and it was delicious! We ordered a meal with the pork stomach and chicken soup, and it as delicious and full of umami flavors from the ingredients!

Hard to find chiu chow restaurants these days but this one is ok. Set lunch menus with some traditional dishes. Satay beef noodles, smoked chicken and fish ball spup noodles is good.

This is QUACK possibly our FAVE spot for Chiu Chow food in GTA?? We got a bunch of their popular dishes. Chiu Chow Style Oyster & minced Pork w/ Rice in Soup is a classic, the broth was flavourful, it was loaded with chopped Oyster, Ground Pork, Mushroom, Dried Fish, and Rice so good! Chiu Chow Style Marinated Duck came in half a Duck, the Meat was juicy, tender, marinated beautifully, not fatty at all, and it also came with Tofu, loved it! Home Style Fried Oysters Egg Omelet was alright, wasn’t really the authentic style, but it was still flavourful! Deep Fried Xenentondon came with perfectly fried, meaty Fish pieces, coated in the most delicious Sauce, this is a MUST get!

Food is yummy. There are that many good chow chiu place in York Region anymore. Service is average. Similar to other Asian restaurants. Ambiance is ok. Nothing special. I go there for their food. Don't expect too much for service and ambiance. They only accept cash as a payment.

I used to visit this restaurant a lot when they were at the Silverstar Blvd and Highway 7. I decided to do a takeout lunch after knowing they are now at a new location. The fried satay beef noodles and black pepper pig stomach soup noodles were good. I'll try to eat in next time.

Food was great! Very well balanced flavours - especially with the sweet and sour pork, fried just right and freshly and not drowning in overly sweetened or thickened sauce.Service was a little slow given that we thought coming for an early dinner slightly before 6pm would have helped to beat dinnertime rush, however, servers were nice and kind to tell us that our dishes were coming and to explain to us other dishes of interest.Chairs we sat on are foldout chairs and the floor was far too slippery for them. Beware if you have really elderly with your dining party, though the majority of the patrons at the time were somewhat on the elderly side.Kid-friendliness: Saw a lot of kids around and young families, so they seem to be able to cater for them.Wheelchair accessibility: Saw several elderlies with rollators, though the floor is a bit slippery.
