“First time in this cozy little place. Booth seating to one side and a bar on the other. It's got a cool eclectic vibe, very clean. We were promptly sat and a server was there with menus and water and took our drink order. The menu is small but covers all the bases nicely. The chips arrived hot and the salsa made in house while we waited for our food which wasn't long. Nothing pretentious going on here just solid well prepared and fresh. Portions were generous and the prices fair. We've found another little gem! I would have given 4.5 stars simply for the fact that the dusty musty 70s one hit wonder ambient music included the theme from Greatest American Hero. “Have come here a few times since moving to Detroit. It's in a very old mostly abandoned industrial part of the city along the Detroit River, made better by nice new development nearby, adjoining a portion of the beautiful Detroit River Walk, and on a strip near the Atwater Grill with other businesses. Very nostalgic looking business whose interior including bathrooms have certainly seen better days, but made comfortable by the nice wait staff and VERY HOSPITABLE owner who is most always available and a pleasure to chat with. Generally speaking the food here is very good. I'd call this a must visit little foray into old Detroit, where you can get a nice meal and drinks well off the beaten path. I like it.“

“The best middle eastern food anywhere in southeastern Michigan. It's even better than my family's authentic cooking (but don't tell them). Right when you walk in you're treated like family. All of their food is amazing. I especially love their eggplant boats, grape leaves, stuffed squash, mujadara, and platters. They have the best garlic sauce and amazing shawarma. Also Wednesday nights they have dinner specials that you can preorder that are a must try! I usually order one and have enough food for my 5 year old daughter and I to have dinner and leftovers. They offer lots of gluten free foods including preordered meat and spinach pies and are very knowledgeable about gluten free since their son is gluten free. I highly recommend checking them out! “We ordered food for delivery on a Friday night from the Windsor location. The lemon chicken was pretty good, but the chicken fried rice was very plain with bean sprouts, a sprinkle of chopped green onion, egg and tiny bits of chicken in it. All 3 dishes were almost the same colour. The Shanghai noodles were very disappointing. The picture on their website shows this dish with red pepper and green vegetables in it…our dish had only cheap cabbage. I had eaten at their Niagara Falls location only 2 weeks ago and was so impressed with it that I ordered it here. I guess next time I will have to ask for this dish to be prepared the same way they do for their buffet. Food arrived hot and in less time than expected.“

“While in Detroit I found this excellent Mexican restaurant. The service, the decor, the music and the food were all top tier. The chilaquiles with a couple fried eggs and beans with a little cotija cheese were screaming! Very authentic like mom use to make lol. The chicharrones were absolutely fire. Crunchy not greasy and the peanut sauce that comes with it is great for dipping. Love this place. Muchas gracias!“

“Hubby and I stopped here for dinner on Sat. evening. Ordered a steak, Greek salad and . baked tater. The Greek salad was the best I have every eaten with homemade dressing not bottled stuff, my steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. “It's not often I leave a 5/5 review. Although I haven't tried everything on the menu, I had the Slam Dunk sandwich, and it surely didn't disappoint. The roast beef was tender and extremely juicy, not too fatty, and the sautéed onions and havarti cheese added just enough flavor, but not too much to overpower the roast beef and roasted hogie bun. “First time ordering, I got 2 gyros, a side salad and a humm, enough for about 3 meals. If you're getting a gyro, you may as well get a second one with it. It's a dollar off, and gives you left overs for later.Gyro meat has got some bite, and the tomato is acidic, but the sauce does a wonderful job of taming and pulling the sandwich together. The humm is oily and garlicy and delicious, pairing wonderfully with the soft dryness of the pita and the savory spice of the gyro, earning the involuntary "mmmm". A time-tested formula sure to delight. Overall, a quality sandwich, and the kind of meal I expect when I order from a place called "La Pita on Sandwich".On the downside, my salad came with onions and cucumbers, which I specifically asked to be excluded. But I had no problem pawning those bits off to one of my hungry house mates. There were no onions on my pita, so I'm thinking they were made by different people to get my order out in good time. The ingredients weren't mixed in, so it wasn't too hard to pick them out to my satisfaction. And most people want those things in their salad anyway.Also, personal opinion, their drink game is lacking. But, like... whose isn't these days?The presentation of the packaged meal was adequate. It smelled like food, and I was able to tell what was what before opening anything. “I’ve lived in the area for two years but never got around to trying Red Crown until last night. I really wish I hadn’t waited that long!! Food, drinks and service were all awesome. Even the free chips were outstanding. I got the mushroom, vegan chorizo and chicken tacos. Mushroom and chicken were amazing. Vegan chorizo needed a little bit of extra flavor but still very good. Horchata was delicious. Got a veggie quesadilla to go and it was so good heated up this morning. I can’t wait to go back!“
