I tried to order a take out at 3:50 by telephone and the line was busy for 15 minutes. It was so weird because it wasn't a busy time so I went to the restaurant. There was ONLY one person waiting for a pickup, NO dine-in. I asked the server about the telephone line and she said "oh, it's broken". She didn't even say sorry. It was so obvious that she didn't want to pick up the phone. I love their Rose tteokbokki but I hate their employee's attitude.I knew the Uptown owner didn't care about his employees, but it seems like it's getting worse. Please provide some training to your staff. Isn’t it a bit weird to do that just because you don’t want to work when there aren’t even a single customer?

I can understand why some people would like this kind of favourite Korean street food. It is simple, configurable with many toppings, and great with some soju and other alcoholic beverages. But, my gang of two tried the original without any toppings. It was just the rice cake and powered soup sauce. Sounds familiar? Yes, I am referring to instant noodle taste. We added half/half gimbap (regular and tuna), and 3 other fried items. They go well with the sauce, but the sauce itself was very close to instant noodle taste. Not worth the premium I paid for gimbap and 3 tiny pieces of fried item for $3-4 per kind. The fried items are also run-of-the-mill fried food. Some of the instant ttukbokki packages do better job than this. For eat-in expereince, the service and the atmosphere were great, but the main cause for my visit was left unfulfilled and wanting to look for a place north of here...which unfortunately is closed and far from the reaches of many.

Cute and quaint korean street food spot in thornhill! Sinjeon really satisfied my cravings for some yummy rice cakes and fried food on the side. I’ve never been to Korea before but I know that this would be a go-to street food dish for me.I tried the rose combo that comes with rose tteokbokki, deep fried fish cakes, and a tuna mayo rice bowl, it also came with a drink ($25)! We added sausages to our tteokbokki too (+2.99) and in total it was very filling. The rice cakes were the perfect texture, soft and chewy, and the sauce was sweet but spicy at the same time. We got level 1 spicy and it had a kick so be careful if you can’t handle your spice! ?My favourite was the tuna mayo rice bowl - it was so delicious mixing it with the tteokbokki sauce, and really cooled down the flavour as well.I would highly recommend checking them out if you are in the area and need your fix on korean street food. This is definitely a restaurant you go to grab a quick bite, I wouldn’t recommend anything fancy or large groups here. The server was very polite as well- I’ll definitely be back!

Ordered the tuna mayo rice and creamy curry tteokbokki. Flavors were good, the prices are pretty cheap but portions are small.

Honestly the best rice cake I’ve had this side of the Pacific Ocean. Had the rosé and carbonara, both were top notch both in quality and quantity. Fried fish cake basket was also delicious.

I was a little surprised to hear that my order for two tteokbokki submissions would be completed within 10 minutes, but I guess they had already made them, and the rice cakes and vermicelli were too sticky... After eating them, I couldn't digest them all and my stomach hurt. It wasn't like this before, even when I submitted them... This was the first time I ate them at a temple and left them all. I see it. I don't think I'll ever think about temples anymore? Cream tteokbokki only contains two sausages?????‍♀️

We dined here back in December, and was super excited to try out this restaurant but left disappointed. Their food is okay, nothing special, but it was the service that I was not okay with. We were ordering items separately and the server had advised us that it would be cheaper to go with their combos as we would end up getting a couple of free drinks if we did it that way. Turns out, there are specific items that can be chosen for the combos and all the items that we ordered needed an up charge including the drinks which she did not tell us about. When the bill comes, I have an additional $12 on my cheque and when inquiring about it, she tells me that those up charges are listed on their menu behind the counter. Nowhere was it stated on their online menu which you use to order when you scan the QR code. Also, why are you promoting tips when everything is self serve including the water and cutlery? I have no problem paying for good food and service but when an establishment is not going to be transparent about all their upgrades and up charges to the customer, that is what I am not okay with.

Ordered the Rose combo with Spam mayo rice bowl, and added cheese to the tteokbokki, as well as a side of the fried seaweed rolls.Flavours were great, however, I would have preferred if they put pieces of cheese rather then one big slice. The seaweed rolls were also not worth it as they were 3.99 for 3 pieces.

Great restaurant for a quick bite to eat, takeout and some classic Korean comfort food. We ordered the rose tteokbokki along with the half kimchi half tuna kimbap. The tteokbokki was super soft and we added cheese and fishcake for an additional $6 total. The cheese was really good but clumped into a blob that was hard to pick apart easily. The sauce for the tteokbokki was super delicious though and the cream from the rose sauce cuts the spice a bit. The kimbap was super fresh and the tuna/kimchi mix was a pleasant surprise. The only downside is the rearaunt was very cold (we wore our coats) and the waitress forgot our order. However, they were very apologetic of the situation and gave us free drinks.Parking: Parking is behind the rearaunt and limited

Food was great! However they don’t put the heater on during the winter time, causing us to shiver while eating.
