came here for my sisters birthday and it was amazing! great food, great prices, and amazing staff. such pretty decorations. it was pretty noisy but we came on a saturday night. The size portions were okay, but i felt the fried rice could've been more. Wish they had halal options, i couldn't try their meats, but their pescatarian options were good. Overall great experience, definitely coming back!

The environment was amazing and I enjoyed the food. The presentation was well-done. The price, however, was definitely quite expensive. Also, 20% tip was automatically included in the bill, which I guess is normal with a lot of high-end restaurants, but not something I like to see. Once in a while still worth to try it out though.

During a recent visit to Akira Back in Toronto, nestled in the heart of the city's bustling dining scene, my party of four embarked on a culinary journey that was both impressive and intermittently disappointing due to service issues. Our dining adventure coincided with a major conference, bringing us to this establishment as walk-ins amidst a sea of reservations. On the culinary front, Akira Back shines. The tacos were a delightful surprise, packing a punch of flavor and creativity, easily becoming a highlight of our meal. The corn tempura was another standout, its delicate crispiness and sweet flavor perfectly executed. The Pop Rockin' roll was an absolute showstopper – a fusion of taste and fun that left us wishing we had ordered double. The Jidori chicken provided a comforting, delicious reprieve from the more adventurous selections, underscoring the kitchen's versatility and skill. However, not every dish was a hit. The crispy octopus fell flat, lacking the vibrancy and excitement found in the rest of the menu. It was a rare misstep in an otherwise delightful meal. The service, while friendly and well-intentioned, was marred by the restaurant being understaffed for the occasion. Our server, despite her best efforts, appeared overwhelmed, leading to prolonged periods where we were left with dirty plates and no attention. This was attributed to the unexpected influx of walk-ins during the conference, a scenario the restaurant seemed ill-prepared for. This experience underscores the critical balance between kitchen excellence and front-of-house efficiency. Akira Back undoubtedly excels in delivering culinary delights but was momentarily let down by service delays. I would encourage the management to take note of local events, such as the annual conference that coincided with our visit, to better anticipate staffing needs. Such foresight could significantly enhance the dining experience, ensuring that the service matches the high quality of the cuisine. In conclusion, while the meal was memorable for its flavors, the service aspects left room for improvement. I remain optimistic, however, that this feedback will prompt adjustments, making Akira Back not just a destination for fantastic food but also for impeccable service. Despite the hiccups, I would recommend this restaurant to fellow food enthusiasts, with a gentle reminder to maybe steer clear of the octopus and to brace for potential service delays during busy times.

The restaurant was so noice!! PPL speak so loudly. If you wanna have a date I wouldn't recommend because you can't even talk to your partner ??you can't even hear what does he say. Anyways overall is good.

At Akira Back, Toronto, during a busy conference week, my party of four experienced a blend of culinary highs and service lows. With reservations amidst a flood of walk-ins, we were primed for an evening of gastronomic exploration. The menu impressed, from the inventive tacos and light, crispy corn tempura to the playful Pop Rockin' roll and comforting Jidori chicken. Each dish showcased culinary creativity, except the crispy octopus, which was somewhat bland. Service was strained, likely due to being understaffed. Our server was pleasant but overwhelmed, leading to delays and extended periods with dirty plates at our table. This seemed a result of unexpected walk-in traffic during the conference, a planning oversight. This evening highlighted the balance needed between kitchen excellence and service efficiency. While Akira Back's dishes are commendable, service fell short, underscoring the importance of adequate staffing, especially during known busy periods. Management could improve future experiences by anticipating local events and adjusting staffing accordingly. This foresight could ensure both reservation and walk-in guests receive attentive service, aligning with the restaurant's high culinary standards. Despite these issues, Akira Back's innovative dishes make it a worthy visit in Toronto. Constructive feedback may help align service with its gastronomic achievements, enhancing the dining experience for all.

Incredible food. Hard to know where to start. Incredible. Sushi, rice, cucumber salad, cod. Fair alcohol prices. Fair food prices. Great sequence of delivery. Excellent service. It's certainly loud and I think we may even have been in a quiet corner...on a Tuesday night. Still, I'd gladly return any time.

I have been here multiple times now and the service is impeccable, the ambiance is incredible, and the servers and management treat you as if you're in their own home. I was last served by Greg and Chris and they both made our experience memorable. I will definitely be coming back throughout the year. Thanks!

Visited for dinner and had a great time. The grilled Alaskan king crab and sushi platter were both amazing so I would highly recommend both. The chocolate in a cup dessert was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Our server was very attentive and the interior gave a fancy vibe.

Service was very good and our server was super attentive and pleasant. The food, unfortunately, disappointed. Presentation was top notch. Taste, nothing special, compared to many "better" sushi restaurants all over the city, it did not impress at all.I've found mystery box waste of money, all show (dry ice) and not much in substance.I liked selection of sake; wife and I sacrificed a bottle ;-).

Food was made well. Very small portions but great. Pictures of the food online do make it look bigger than what it actually is. Overall decent experience. Chicken and beef was cooked to perfection. Overpriced in my opinion.
