Gosh I don’t know where to start… This place was by far the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been to. There were flies, insects all over the place. I ordered a “tombik doner”, it comes with fries, meat and tomatoes. The bread was very cold and it wasn’t fresh, the fries was tough to chew. All I tasted was the hot sauce. Never going back there.

Delicious!!! Healthy, fresh, zesty. Open late and the portions are plentiful. The mural is very beautiful. The little coffee shop on the side has amazing Turkish Delights.

I liked the sandwiches! The experience felt like you are in a traditional bazaar and eating delicious cheap food! I love the Kensington area!

I love the Iskender plate. I don’t know much about Turkish food but this was recommended by a friend. I love it, it’s a big portion, really fills you up. I will be back to try the Pide, they also look great!

I'm really surprised by the stellar reviews. I ordered the Istanbul plate and it was super basic. Just included chicken, rice and a soggy salad with a couple cherry tomatoes and olives. The chicken was good and portion size was normal but for $20 I expect to get a hell of a lot more (not in size but quality and variety in ingredients).

It's not bad, but it's not that good. I had a beef Istanbul wrap and asked for extra tomatoes and lots of sauce, the guy making it nodded, and 15 minutes later (they have a lot of online orders, not a bad thing for the business, but does result in long waits as a walk-in customer) I got wrap with not all that much sauce and not very many tomatoes, the regular amount for sure. For its size I'd say it was unreasonably priced, smaller than most shawarma and about double the price of an uptown shawarma. The taste was okay, not very good, but not bad in any way. My friends ordered plates, they enjoyed them and they looked decent. Portion size on them was pretty good, but not in proportion to the price. Very generous serving of sour yogurt on the side though, so that's a plus. All in all place isn't bad, but overpriced in my opinion.

I came here with a friend to try various snacks in Kensington. We had their rice pudding (dessert) and being middle eastern it was a tasty nostalgic middle eastern treat. It was made perfectly with just the top just perfectly burnt a little for taste. will definitely be going back when I crave rice pudding. It was only 5$!

This restaurant is surely one of the most attractive place to eat in the region. Every time I go there I am extremely satisfied. They hold their high standard service and the topmost level of cooking they serve. You will be always satisfied with this place. Warmly recommended.

Iskendar is always a great choice at a Turkish restaurant.

I heard a bunch of good things about this place, I looked them up in social media and the quality and presentation looked fantastic, I definitely had to try it. It was my first time trying Turkish food in Canada and i was sure that best instanbul would be a great experience, but I was wrong... so wrong. I ordered a mixed pide and they gave me this... the photo speaks for itself. (Paid 20 bucks for this) Poor quality of ingredients, presentation and underwhelming taste. Never again. (The photo was taken less than 12 minutes after receiving it. I walked to my workplace, opened the box and found the food like this)

I ordered the rice plate with mixed (chicken+beef) doner which came with salad, and a box of baqlava. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy my food because: 1. The rice tasted uncooked and smoked which is not my taste. 2. Both doners especially the chicken ones were so dry and tasted burnt :(( and I could taste spices more than the actual beef or chicken. But, the Baqlava was delicious.

Good kebab but don’t take the rice because it has no taste.
