I’ve eaten here before and I’ve had no issues until yesterday. I ordered a chorizo sausage and had the worst food poisoning. I am still not recovered and I don’t think i’ll eat here ever again.

My rating: 4.2/5. I enjoyed the burgers at this place, and the staff were super friendly. Had the poutine, but that wasn’t anything special. The prices are very good, and that coupled with the taste of the burgers is why I will definitely be coming back. The American style is tasty and exactly what you expect from a good American burger. Good place for students to eat or for a quick meal.Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options, but I would not recommend this restaurant for a vegetarian meal.Dietary restrictions: They are accommodating to dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Very kid and family friendly, with its diner style.Wheelchair accessibility: Only a small step up to the main door, but if you can get over that everything else is pretty accessible.

Great stop for a pre or post Kensington market walk. Good quality, reasonably priced, friendly staff. What more can one ask for?

Amazing Rain

The staff is incredibly kind and the atmosphere is very nice, however the hotdogs are not nicest, the fries is good, the sauces are well made but the other toppings I can’t say much about! It’s worth a try ?

Great food and tremendous customer service! The 2 young employees that served us really went out of their way to make it a memorable experience.

Visited this place specifically for their vegetarian poutine made with Beyond® plant-based meat and vegetarian gravy. Being from the U.S. and never having had poutine before, we enjoyed every bite of it. We were quite hungry as we had been ice skating at the Barbara Ann Scott skating trail and afterwards walked to Fancy Franks for about 30 minutes in the rain just to try their veg poutine. Giving their food 5 stars even though we didn't try anything else on the menu. Four servings of poutine and a few drinks plus a small tip cost us close to CA$70. Kind of pricey for lunch, but it was very filling and worth it.Vegetarian options: Per Google Maps, this came up as the one fast food restaurant that offers vegetarian poutine (instead of vegan), so it still contains the traditional cheese curds, but it's made with Beyond® and veg gravy. They also have a veg hot dog, but we didn't try it because the poutine filled us up.

Swung by for a late night bite! The restaurant was empty but there were delivery drivers coming in to pick up orders. More geared towards takeout I guess. We ordered the franko y huevos and Coney Island dogs. Took about 10 minute wait till our dogs were ready. The Coney Island dog was a regular hot dog with mustard and onions. The franko y huevos was so spicy! This came with chorizo sausage all cut up already in small pieces (instead of a full long sausage), scrambled eggs, onions and jalapeños. I had to pick out all the jalapeños to eat this lol. Are these fancy hot dogs? Well, the toppings aren't exactly fancy, but they are unique toppings that are outside of your typical ketchup, mustard and relish. I'm not usually a hot dog type of person, but if you are, not a bad place to check out if you're around the area.

I can always count on Fancy Franks for a heated post game meal with their lineup of hot dogs and poutines to satisfy whatever I am craving for the day! With many toppings and condiments to customize my hot dogs, burger, and fries, it's no wonder it's recognized city wide for their commitment to providing great hot dogs for great prices!

Big miss honestly $10 dollars for a buffalo chicken hot dog special that was very mid. It has chicken flakes which tastes like nails (I'm a professional nail biter but I'm not trying to eat that for dinner). The hot dog itself besides the toppings was pretty dry, very mid and kind've scabby. Idk if I just hit the spot at the wrong time or ordered the wrong item but I'm kindve sad for what it was. Also the place was cold which isn't the best for coming inside at -0< weather.Place could be a lot cozier and food a lot less mid.

I don't really get the lower reviews. And the place is often pretty empty. But every time I've been here it's been good. The place has got a really cool set up. A length table accounts for most of the seating, and then some two tops and outside patio seating is the rest of it. The service is friendly and quick. Nothing over the top but congenial. There are daily specials for the food, and it's all made fresh. I have had some of their frankfurters and the double American cheeseburger. The fries too. It's all pretty tasty.A bit pricey for take out, but standard for these days. And they're open late.Worth the trip!
