I didn't even go in to eat before I was turned away by the attitude of the service. When we came in, the waiter didn't know what he was looking at and ignored us, so we planned to find a place to sit first, but when we walked in, he was very rude and turned back. The waiter said: "Hey, hey, come back." He stopped us. We are forced to sit in one seat, but there are three places to sit.At this point we were just confused but my friend politely asked if we could sit inside as we didn't like sitting facing the door. Then the waiter said with a bad attitude: "You can't sit there."His voice was so loud that everyone in the store looked at us, and he looked very impatient. I was confused as to why I couldn't sit down. He said someone would be coming soon. My friend asked me if I still wanted to eat. I said no and we left. I don't know why his service attitude is so bad. I heard that this store tastes good, but with such a waiter, it can't sell well.

Visited this place cause of the rating on Google, but it is a total disappointment. Food is edible, but it's not considered good. Service is horrible, I have never had a restaurant force a drink onto me. I ordered a pineapple juice, and within a minute, I asked to switch to something else. The male server told me no and that I have to have it.. the juice is all carton juice (which I wouldn't have ordered). They also try to upsell you by telling you that whatever noodle you order is not enough (similar to other negative reviews on here).

Noodles were delicious and served quickly. Flavour of the broth here is more savoury and spicy than other lanzhou noodle chains I’ve tried so far (flavour wise, I’d say this is my favourite spot!). Side dish we tried was were a bit small. Seating is a bit tight as the space is small so not the most comfortable. There are condiments such as vinegar available but not on table, you will need to ask for it.

My group and I had terrible service. The server was rude, rolling his eyes and delaying our seating in an empty restaurant. He was deliberately doing small tasks like folding napkins instead of opening a table for us. It was the most unpleasant experience I’ve had at a restaurant. The dish itself was good. Large portion.I can’t imagine coming back after that experience. Rude boi

Been eyeing this place for awhile since COVID-19 as it looked quite a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Upon entering in the middle of the night with table of four, I found the place quite familiar to all noodle houses - chopsticks, soup spoons and napkins placed on bare tables. Even on some places along the bar facing the street. The wait wasn't long as our server greeted us and offered up two menus - rice dishes and appetizers, noodle soup and apps. The entire time, he also asked for our drink order which is quite studious on their part in the middle of the night. Awaiting for our meal was short but turned in quickly as bowls and dishes came over to use all at once.In particular the Special Lanzhou Beef Noodles with thick-thick was quite filling. Though I asked for a light spice preference which I later regretted, my company reports the regular hits just right. I was able to sample the beef shank, shredded potato and bok choy apps. All of which are well cooked and prepared just right. When it came to the bill, the cost was relatively affordable which completes the trifecta of a low cost hearty meal in a small dine-in atmosphere for singles and groups starting at 2. For their operating hours, they cover condos, tourists and townies roaming the area. Generally a nice spot away from high traffic areas but close enough to get back to them.

Right in downtown core, you really won't find better pricing (~12$ for a large) on authentic Chinese noodles than this. Their selection for rice dishes is also so good! One of my best friends showed me this place recently and I'll definitely be back next time.

GB Hand-Pulled NoodlesI visited GB Hand-Pulled Noodles for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant is cozy, with limited seating, so arriving before noon is advisable to secure a spot. The deciding factor was photos showcasing a chef kneading dough and pulling noodles on-site. However, I was slightly disappointed to find that the noodles were pre-made.The menu is straightforward, offering a diverse selection of dishes. I opted for the house special, while my friend chose the beef brisket. Our meals were served promptly, featuring hot soup and fresh ingredients. For those who appreciate a bit of heat, be aware that their original spicy oil is relatively mild; you may want to request a spicier option. The noodles had a good balance of tenderness and chewiness, suggesting they were freshly prepared. The beef slices, although thin, reminiscent of what one might expect at a ramen establishment, did not detract from the overall quality of the meal. The dining experience at GB Hand-Pulled Noodles combines the ambiance of a sit-down restaurant with the affordability of food court pricing. The staff are notably friendly and efficient, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.

The waiter is unhappy that we didn't tip and have the audacity to tell me that he is also a student and we needed to tip. We are looking for an affordable place with great service but you won't receive it here. Such a bad experience, Not recommended for students who wants an affordable meal.

I've been going here for 10 years. Always loved the food and had no problems with the service until recently.I went on Thursday Feb 22 evening. This server was an absolute clown. This is the same server that Ad Jordan posted from the same day (I have no affiliation with this reviewer). The server first started by giving us attitude for wanting to sit as a group of 4. I've seen plenty tables do this before, but he would not let us even when the restaurant was not busy. He kept trying to kick us out and telling us to come back later although the restaurant was not even at half capacity. We sat down 2 and 2, and waited for the table next to us to clear so that we could at least sit with our friends on separate tables. We did not rush the other table in any form, and were willing to wait. When the other group was done, we respectfully asked to be seated next to each other. Again, the server gave us attitude for no reason. Even the chefs seemed confused as to why the server wouldn't seat us together, and told the server to do so, in which he finally said OK. Despite this, he would not clean the bowls that the other customers left, and would continue to do other tasks like folding napkins, setting the empty tables with cutlery, filling the water bottles, checking his phone, and standing around doing nothing. Finally he reluctantly gave in, cleaned the bowls, and proceed to take our orders. He kept rolling his eyes and talked down on us when we asked questions on the menu. He would not even ask what type of noodle we wanted, until we specified which one, then he let out a big sigh and started writing everyone's orders again on a different notepad. Thankfully there was not much interaction after this, but this was absolutely the worst service I've received at a restaurant in my entire life.My friends and I are Asian. We're used to going to traditional restaurants where responses are curt and short. We don't mind that, we grew up on it. But this server displayed completely inappropriate behaviour, and needs to be disciplined or let go. You are doing your business disservice by having this clown around, and clearly the other reviews indicate the same. Again, I've never had this issue with any other server here, except the one that was working on Thursday night. I hope to visit again because this was always one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto, but this man-child needs to be taught customer service or just find a different place to work where he does not need to interact with people.
