I paid 16 dollars plus for combo D with dynamite roll and spicy salmon roll. My spicy salmon roll literally only had tempura crumbs and no salmon!!! It tastes like cooking oil... I'm so disappointed ?

Neighbourhood favourite. We are always disappointed when we end up picking sushi up from anywhere else.

This café sits in plain sight here in the Kensington Market district. The word "Kensington" is a bit hard to read during the day, as its white letters are attached to a white background, but you can still clearly see the large "Sushi Market" lettering and the pictures of sushi in their front windows. The interior was stifling hot on a warm summer day, but at least they had what I was looking for a fulfilling meal in the form of their salmon poke bowl, but one that wasn't excessively sized or too "hot" in temperature. Together with a cold drink, this was a nice, quiet break. Service from the couple who runs this place was also courteous and efficient, and prices and portions were reasonable by U.S. standards after factoring in the exchange rate. A nice, local, independent find on my Yelp app while out and about.

4 stars for taste! I tried their poke bowls and they are simple but great. A little undersized and a lot over priced, but it’s Kensington market so I didn’t expect any better. They have limited seating room indoor and limited seating room outdoor. If you are in the area and craving some poke, give this local business a try.

sushi was incredible! super fresh, had the black dragon roll i believe, the one with the unagi, as well as the dynamite roll with the salmon on top, cant remember the name. both were great! got the salmon poke bowl as well, 10/10! will definitely be back :)

Quality of the sushi here is really good. I can’t remember the last time I had sushi rice made so well.

Had the chicken udon, spicy, for takeout. The takeout bowl was half filled and barely any chicken at all. The chicken has a processed taste and feel to it, and the broth tasted a bit artificial. And there was zero spice to it. Tasted like a slightly more grown up version of Campbells chicken soup. Was not filling at all and definitely not worth the price. Not up to Kensington standards.

Nous nous sommes arrêtés par hasard avec ma femme sans nous attendre à grand chose mais au final les sushi étaient vraiment très bon donc si vous passez dans le coin arrêtez vous !

The rolls are tasty, fine. But beware, they are the size of a peanut. So order twice as many if you're really hungry ?

We visited Kensington Sushi & Poke on Monday August 2nd 2021. They had a decent variety of sushi from ready made take-out to made to order. Food was about a 7 out of 10. The quality of the food is why this review has 2 stars and not 1. This restaurant had both indoor and outdoor seating, however we were refused when inquiring about washrooms. My understanding is that in Ontario it's the law to have washrooms available to patrons when your restaurant offers sit down dining. Unfortunately I will not be visiting this establishment again.
