Disappointing Experience at Khao San RoadI've been a loyal patron of Khao San Road for years, always enjoying their flavorful dishes and pleasant atmosphere. However, my recent visit was marred by unacceptable behavior from one of the male servers. When my friend politely expressed her dissatisfaction with the unusually small portion of panang curry and requested extra curry to compensate, the server's response was shockingly rude and dismissive.Despite our repeated requests, he refused to accommodate us, insisting that this was how the dish had always been served. His tone was condescending and disrespectful, claiming his tenure of 10 years at the restaurant as justification for his behavior. Such behavior is utterly unacceptable in any establishment, let alone a restaurant known for its hospitality.Additionally, the experience took a turn for the worse when a fly landed in my pad thai, rendering it inedible. Despite bringing this to the server's attention, there was no offer for a replacement or even a gesture of goodwill. It's appalling that a restaurant of Khao San Road's caliber would allow such a blatant violation of hygiene standards. My friends and I were appalled by the lack of professionalism, basic courtesy, and hygiene standards displayed during our visit. We've never encountered such a combination of poor service and disregard for cleanliness in any restaurant before. This experience has soured my perception of Khao San Road, and I hesitate to recommend it to anyone after being treated so poorly. Quality food and ambiance can only go so far when overshadowed by such deplorable customer service. It's a shame to see a once-beloved establishment tarnish its reputation in this manner. I would have taken a picture of the fly on my dish but the server took my plate away. Luckily we brought it to her notice so she is aware that this happened.

A little bit of a squished place, not too many tables. The food was great (mild is still spicy for those not used to spice), would recommend for a non-expensive night out. The upstairs is a very vibey bar that I will definitely come back to!

There's usually a wait here so we went shortly after they opened in hopes of getting a spot. There were thankfully a few tables left but it was filling up quite quickly. We liked their curry and their pad Thai and are looking forward to trying other items next time!

This place feels like a cafeteria but my real problem is with the ignorant and inattentive service. I won’t be returning.

Really enjoyed their khao soi dish. The curry sauce was very rich. The restaurant also had really nice interior designs and was super aesthetic

Khao San Road serves up a delightful Pad Gra Pao that hits all the right notes. With bold flavors and fresh ingredients, it's a definite must-try for Thai cuisine enthusiasts.I prefer them over Pai any day of the week.

The food here is fantastic and the service is wonderful! I have a plethora of food allergies/intolerance due to my IBS and the staff was so helpful when I let them know what I could not eat! If you like a busy, lively atmosphere then you'll love Khao San Road!

Very tasty cuisine, aromatically very balanced. You can determine the level of spiciness yourself, although even 2 (medium) could be a challenge for some.

Tried out this Thai spot for a Friday lunch - it's got a chill vibe. Highly recommend their Massaman curry, it's rich and flavorful with the perfect blend of peanuts and onions - seriously addictive! The three-flavor Pad Thai is spot on authentic as well. their lunch prices are easier on the wallet than the dinner menu. Don't forget to give the Massaman curry a try!
