I got breakfast sandwich which costs 11$The size of the sandwich was the size of a small English muffin. The ingredients were super basic and the bread was cold. The people behind the counter are friendly but the food is over over overrated. The sweet pastries are better than anything else. But the savory food is NOT worth it. ?

Attached as it is to the name of the great Marc Thuet, this place should NOT be serving such mediocre pastries and coffee. They sold me a bready croissant - truly 3rd rate - and a bitter decaf espresso. I know standard French pastries and this place would not cut it AT ALL in France. To be avoided. (a shame, because it's just a hop across the street to the Summerhill LCBO)(BTW, I did get a full dose of attitude from the barista She was wiping something down behind the counter as I came in. Without washing her hands, made my coffee and pushed the to-go lid down all around, thumbs just where my mouth would be. I politely asked her for a different lid. She challenged me. I explained. She said she couldn't get the lid on otherwise. I asked for the lid, I'd do it myself. Which I did, no problem not touching the lid where my mouth would go. I thanked her. She didn't say another word, just disappeared behind the counter. And then the $5 croissant was crappy. Yeah, no. Avoid.)

Had the worst pain au chocolat here ever. Super dry, no flavor, made totally wrong. La honte!

A very cozy place full of the tastiest pastries and bread. And it is very pleasant to talk to a person who actually herself baked the food you are going to buy and eat. Gandhali, your lime meringue cakes aresimply gorgeous

Great coffee and backed goods.Came in for coffe, got very busy in a 5 minute span, the gentleman that survived the coffee didnt place the lids properly. Not sure why...... we spilled bothe cups on ourselves. White pants and shirt, not a pleasant look for a Sunday stroll around the city. We were both stained and smelled of coffee.

Best bread in the town. They are crispy out& light insider. The lady greeted me after I step in. She quickly grab the items that I asking for. It was a good experience. Thank you!

The brown lady at the cashier was rude and I wouldn't recommend anyone visit this place. Bad experience

Tried an “éclair” and was disappointed. The dough was very dense and not at all like pâte à choux should be. The chocolate was very sweet and tasted far more of just straight up sugar than anything else. Also the pastry tasted like something that has been sitting in the fridge for a while. We also tried a pear tart that was very basic and boring. Normally wouldn’t care too much but the price was over 15$ for 2 very subpar pastries.

Chef Mark Thuet has mastered his art, and it shines through his baking. Our charity works with this company by rescuing their day-old bread daily for the past several years to Feed It Forward, has given the opportunity to so many others living with food, insecurities the chance to try quality and delicious baked goods.Thank you for your support to humanity.

Nicely flavoured sourdough baguettes and loaves. However, have to agree with some of the other criticism regarding the croissants. Dense layers of powdery pastry that crumbles. Also a distinct odour of freezer burn (and none of the delicious Maillard effect smell anyone would be looking for). If I had to guess, they have a prep kitchen they prepare and par-bake these at and then something is going wrong before they do the final bake. The chocolate has not melted or spread in the pain au chocolate, for instance, so maybe their oven temps need to be checked and adjusted. Might be down to one or two staff members not executing the bake correctly, which could explain why some people are having good experiences some of the time. It's a cute place in a nice location and I had high hopes but it didn't work out...

I just got home, opened my bag and discovered that I was sold one half of a plain croissant this afternoon. My bad for not taking a photo- it's wasn't half of an enormous croissant- it was about the size of a deck of cards.

Recently discovered this gem of a place. Croissants are AMAZING! Not easy to source proper ones in Toronto!! Sure it's a bit pricey but isn't everything these days. You're paying for the real deal. Got a rustic white loaf... delicious and a bottle of their homemade hot sauce which is ?. I don't get the comments on service on here... if you need that much pampering head to Starbucks I'm sure you'll find it there? LoL! I'm just happy this place exists!
