We tried the tasting menu and had a lovely evening. The service, ambiance, and food was great. My favourite was the miso butter with bread, tofu in miso, katsuo, and the toro. The desserts were delicious too. They change the menu everyday & their items are based on what's seasonal. They have a nice selection of smooth sake. I'm so glad I got to try this place because reservations are so hard to come by!

We chose the "Trust Skippa" - tasting menu. I am unsure if this number changes, but this will run you around $150 per personPair your entire meal with a bottle of sake (we chose a fruity and light flavour from Fukuoka). The selection sent to us was absolutely delicious from first course to last. They timed everything perfectly.I would go again.

The team behind Skippa is full of passion. You can see the hard work and love they put into each dish. Wonderfully sourced ingredients imported from Japan, and found locally. Fish is fresh, line caught, wild, and in season. What more can you ask for? Ingredients are treated with respect and is cooked to perfection. Highly recommend that you trust Skippa!!!

Trust Skippa, indeed. Fresh seafood, excellent detail to subtle flavours (kabocha tofu with crysanthemum Mmmm) and fabulous sake pairings and explanations. Sushi was superb and the fish so beautiful. Warm and attentive service on the patio.

I chose Skippa from a top-ten list so wasn't sure what to expect. We chose the "Trust Skippa" option or omakase which is a set course menu. I was happily impressed. Every course was delicious, the fish was tender, tasty and fresh. The flavours were subtle and complex. The sake pairings were excellent. The staff were friendly, courteous, attentive, and well trained. The atmosphere was a little louder than I would like, but otherwise upbeat, fun, and happening. I can't wait to go back!

Overall a great experience. I recommend the "Trust Skippa" option if you are willing to spend for the experience. Some of the dishes are not what you would find in traditional omakase but the chefs definitely know what they are doing. Many of the ingredients are sourced locally with exception to some fish and the wagyu which come direct from Japan. In fact the staff will give a comprehensive break down of where each main ingredient comes from as they serve you. For some tasting menus you may be left feeling a bit hungry but at Skippa you will most certainly get your money's worth for both quality and quantity.Last but not least: the wait staff. The servers made an already enjoyable food experience even better by creating a friendly environment and providing excellent service.Seeing as the menu is seasonal I would not mind stopping by again the next time I am in town to see what else is in store.

One of the best dining experiemces in the city. Loved the Trust Skippa menu which is a sampling of everything on the menu in just the right portions. The presentation is beautiful - perfect for date night

Incredible hospitality and good food. We came here for dinner last week and I'm still thinking about how good the whole experience was.We went for the omakase option and our server (Tomo?) was attentive and explained each and every dish to us. Everything was so fresh and well presented. I'm not a huge fan of veggies but the delicate and respectful way they treated each dish won me over.My favorite dish was the wagyu with edamane. The umami was seeping through every bite of it. Truly a dish to remember for the ages.

The best meal I have had in Toronto bar none. Everything from the beautiful Georgian orange wine, to the fresh vegetable plates and sushi, to the friendly staff, was perfection. Toronto is lucky to have this restaurant. Just do it and go!

Went last night for a birthday dinner. hands down the BEST Japanese food we had so far in GTA. Almost all the fish is from Japan and vegetables are from local farmers. Incredible flavours and super friendly team and our waitress Tomo from Osaka was super nice, helpful and friendly. Before it is discovered by everyone in Toronto GO and enjoy this lovely place

Overall a great dining experience. Our server was very friendly and explained everything as we went through each course. Some had an unexpected mix of flavours and we might not like every course personally but we definitely enjoyed most of them. And I had to get two bottles of umeshi to go as it was so delicate and smooth
