His mother who cooked the food was just an absolute sweet heart and the gentleman who served the food is just am absolute gem of a human being .The food is outstanding. I am so glad I came here and I highly highly recommend . I’ve ordered here in the past and was satisfied with the food. However, this time I ordered and was completely disappointed with the food/service. I ordered the Szechuan chicken dish, only to realize there was no chicken in my meal. I called to let them know and they told me if I drove back they would provide me with my correct order. When I got there one of the workers came out of the kitchen and told me “if I want more chicken I should go to china town!”. I left completely shocked and returned home with the second dish. Still no chicken and completely inedible. Feels a little personal…

I live 1 1/2 hours away from this restaurant. But i have been coming here for at least 35 years, passing about 40 competitors that I could easily pick up at on the way But no way. . Every time I come to Toronto to visit my cousin Alex, its become our tradition that we make a visit to see " the other Alex " and his mom . For 35 years the food has been awesome , the portions and prices are fair , and I know they are getting gouged for food costs just like the rest of us . And more importantly, I know they have my cousins back, especially since his stroke. .They always. ask about him . How many places do you eat at where you can say that the owners are so kind they actually care about people ? . I can't confidently recommend South Pacific enough. Explore the menu . You'll keep finding new favourites with enough variety you can eat there weekly no prob, with all kinds of variety

Best I've had in Toronto, a special family-owned spot with incredible quality and quantity for a great price. Hard to find these days! When it comes to chicken balls, chicken to to batter ratio is important to me - these were PERFECT...light and crispy batter. Sweet and sour sauce was REALLY nice, not overly sweet...perfect tang. Did I mention how much food you get?! Will be back!
