A hidden jewel! Nestled away in the Palace Pier condo complex, Veloute Bistro is less well known than the quality of its food and service deserve.My husband and I enjoyed our first post-pandemic meal out after discovering Veloute among the many restaurants participating in Winterlicious. Unlike some places that had limited-time seatings (understandable but annoying) we were not rushed as we savoured 3 delightful courses plus a classic lime daiquiri to start the evening. The cocktail is not on the restaurant's standard menu, but Alise was able to create a delicious version of it. The staff was also most obliging in decanting our full-bodied red wine selection in advance of our arrival so it could "open up" in time for the main course.The Winterlicious menu duplicated a lot of Veloute's regular fare, and offered a varied and generous selection.The Caesar appetizer was somewhat unconventional with finely chopped romaine, but had a classic dressing with fresh parmigiano reggiano cheese. The Warm Lobster Crab Cake was even better, with a crisp panko coating and touches of smoked salmon and spicy guacamole.We both had the steak frites with rosemary and garlic mayonnaise, a bistro classic done to perfection, and wound up the meal with a deliciously delicate creme brulee accompanied by capuccinos. All highly impressive! Chef Fawzi is clearly a master of his craft, and we will definitely return to celebrate more special occasions at this lovely restaurant.

True haute cuisine! I have been a fan of chef Fawzi since before steph curry played pro ball, and way before steph discovered chef's amazing talents. The new location is wonderful. The duck confit remains my fave, but everything we tried was exceptional.Vegetarian options: Super accomodatingDietary restrictions: Super accomodatingParking: Valet for the restaurant is certainly a plus, but you can also self park.Kid-friendliness: Our children have always loved the food, but also seeing the action in the kitchenWheelchair accessibility: Notify the restaurant or concierge in advance and everything will be ready for your arrival.
We had a great time dining in this restaurant. I love how intimate it feels when you enter this beautiful place. Plus factor that it has a valet service. No more worries on the parking slots. Also, I highly commend the staff for showing exemplary service and being very accommodating. Additionally, I was impress on the food presentation and it leaves a sensation on one’s palate.

Went for Winterlicious. The steak was fatty and unseasoned. The 'frites' were soggy and not really frites at all. My dining companion's risotto was fishy and undercooked. The 'warmed' dessert was cold in parts and super tiny. Honestly, the mark up for the meal ($75!) was incredible. I'd be surprised if they spent $15 a plate. It's a great scam they have being below 40+ floors of condos! Total rip off. You're better off going down the street.

This was our second visit to Velouté. Once again, it did not disappoint!! Fawzi and Alise are the friendliest and most attentive hosts we have ever experienced at any restaurant. And the food exceeds their personalities.This night our mains were lobster ravioli and braised short ribs. They were both amazing dishes. It happened be my wife’s birthday. Alise actually surprised my wife with a beautiful creme brûlée and then proceeded to sing her Happy Birthday. She has an absolutely beautiful voice. Their service staff are as friendly and attentive as they are as well.As good as the food is here, the hosts are even better. The service is so personal and welcoming. Where else on the Lakeshore does the chef come out of the kitchen to make sure you are enjoying the meal he’s prepared for you?This is a hidden gem located on the main floor of Palace Pier Condominiums that needs more recognition and exposure. It is, hands down the best food experience in South Etobicoke.We already look forward to the next time we have a meal there.You will not be disappointed… give it a try!!!!Vegetarian options: While neither of us are vegetarian, we have friends who are, and we would not hesitate to bring them here or recommend they eat here. Had an excellent meal on our last night in Toronto and had a great time The tuna tartare and tuna main course were as good as I would expect and have in Barbados The staff looked after us really well and a special mention to Zin (sp) and Hugh (Laurie) Great evening
