Dinner at Yukashi was wonderful and beyond our expectations. Everything was delicious, fresh and beautiful. The chef engaged with the customers and created a very warm atmosphere. He was very funny and approachable. Servers were very kind. Absolutely worthy of Michelin star :)

We had an entertaining and delicious meal that was exquisitely prepared for us by chef. Each course built on the last one and took us on a flavour journey right to the end with the crown melon cut was the extremely long knife that resembled a katana more than a kitchen tool. The most memorable dishes were the two types of wagyu beef and the chutoro. Each were carefully seasoned, and in some cases, seasoned with only very lightly.Looking forward to going back and sampling chef’s creations again.Parking: There is paid street parking available on Mount Pleasant either using the Green P app or the machines.

Beautiful omakase experience. Servers and chef are very pleasant and welcoming. Humble atmosphere with great care and passion (sous chefs too!) to piece together the delicate and well thought out dishes.Did the sake pairing with omakase which went very well with each dish.

My wife and I celebrated our tenth year anniversary over a nine course omakase. This has been one of the best food experiences I've had - ever. The food was sublime and the chef and staff were very warm and personable. Loved it!!!

A well-displayed meal is so impressive. I appreciated the chef’s effort and enjoyed the meal. The only drawback was waiting the food to be served on table for a bit longer time. Only one server for the whole dining table is not enough for us. Sometimes, the server needs to be explained more about the food. The next one needs to be waiting.

Where the east meets west. Indulge in the finest sea urchins, bluefin tuna belly, and freshly prepared wasabi—all at an unparalleled value. Immerse yourself in the ambiance and engage with the chef for a richer experience, enhanced further if you can speak a bit of Japanese.

Incredible food, presentation, and brilliance from the chef, who clearly thinks deeply about every dish, its meaning, presentation, and care of the perfect ingredients he chooses. The sake menu is out of this world. The winter garden dish is as a highlight and in the top 10 dishes I've ever had. Highly recommended if you want to appreciate Japanese cuisine at the highest level!

Terrible service. Arrived 10min early for our appointment at a rainy night. Called the place and they refused to let us in sooner and insisted us waiting in the rain until they can open the door exactly on time. Ridiculous.

We were at Yukashi before the pandemic in 2019 and had a great experience. We went back last Sat and the food was still amazingly good and service was excellent. We enjoyed the fun chat with Chef Izutsu on special food and sake in different region in Japan. We plan to go back in Q2 to try their season adjusted menu. Thank you Chef Izutsu and your team for a enjoyable dinner!

I've been to several omakase places around Toronto and this is the only place that gets it right. The omakase experience is not just about the food, but also the atmosphere and engagement of the chef with the customers.I came on a quiet night with only another couple in the restaurant so it was a very intimate experience. The employee that served us was exceedingly polite and explained all the dishes well. The chef himself was quiet and a little unapproachable at first while he was working, but once the first few dishes were served and he formally introduced himself, he began fully engaging with everyone. And boy, was he so funny and friendly! The flow of conversation reminded me of Japan, unlike in Toronto where the chefs typically don't talk to customers despite standing right in front of them. The flow of the dishes came out at a good pace, probably because there were so few of us. Presentation was on point with refinement, delicacy and high attention to detail. Despite the bite size nature of these dishes, every single one packed a punch and it was a harmony of flavours.Out of all the dishes, the standouts were the blowtorch wagyu/uni/foie gras dish, hassun (dish with elements that represent the season) and sashimi platter. The chef's skill and technique can't be overstated and watching him prep the food was an experience in itself.Overall, this place is absolutely worthy of its Michelin star. I've been to other places that may have a single element done better than Yukashi, but nowhere else does everything equally well - presentation, taste, service and chef engagement. ごちそうさまでした!

Three years ago $150/$60 extra for sake pairing. 11 months ago $295/$95.I'm sure it's delicious, but double the money in 2-3 years. Was it free six years ago?
