We called to make sure they were open and then walked down there to get some takeout.When we arrived, we learned that their entire computer system was down. They had to do everything by hand, and were only accepting cash. Yet the place was still packed and the staff were still smiling.The food was delicious, and didn't take much longer than normal. We both ordered the beef wrap with vegetables and a touch of hot sauce. We also ordered some samosas and got a free mandazi to taste. Their tasting menu is one of the best meals I've had.The dining room itself is gorgeous -- modern, stunning, romantic, and spacious. It has great lighting and sound balance. The chef and sous-chef themselves came by to present a couple courses.The service is wonderful -- attentive, informative, and kind without being overbearing. The wine list is excellent, and the front-of-house team provides great recommendations and guidance upon request.The food is spectacular. We had the opportunity to experience Aiana's tasting menu, and strongly recommend it. The tasting menu currently begins with a course named "The Four Flavours of Life", featuring a series of small bites (an array of amuse-bouches, similar in spirit to the "sakizuke" opening course in traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine, meant to prepare the diner for the meal and introduce the chef's style). This opening course dazzled in its variety in terms of flavour, texture, and presentation. The rest of the menu expanded on these themes with wonderful variety, showcasing many ingredients both local and luxurious with respect and creativity. Every course was delicious. Highlights include the caviar and truffle courses, as well as a unique take on foie gras. The tasting menu ends with some lovely ice cream and desserts, including a final course of "petit fours", in a sense mirroring the opening course but in dessert form.Truly a talented team at Aiana. They were also very kind in accommodating our dietary restrictions. The space is fairly small and there are often lines outside.We got mimosas, crispy cigars, shakshukas (mine had feta), the classic breakfast, and ashta pancakes. I didn't have coffee, but others said it wasn't very strong.Crispy cigars were delicious - delicately crispy outside and creamy inside, with a refreshing dip. I've never had a shakshuka before and found it tasty, especially with the bread, though it was more soup-y than I expected. The pancakes were also great, with a flowery cream on top.Would go back just for the crispy cigars! (In fact strongly considering just grabbing an order of those for takeout the next time I pass by.)“
“LAGO was absolutely outstanding in every way for our wedding day. We got married on November 4, 2023 and it couldn’t have gone more perfect. Gyneya & her team were so great to work with. She was very responsive to emails answering all our questions, helped us walk through the entire timeline and was there on the big day making sure everything ran smooth. The venue went above and beyond to provide lots of gluten free options for the menu (myself and a few guests have gluten allergies). We had all gluten free or d'oeuvres and they altered the sauce for the main dish to accommodate. They even went out of their way to purchase a specific seltzer when I mentioned that was my favourite drink. All the food and drinks were SOOO good. We did minimal decorations because the venue is beautiful on its own. We have had many guests reach out to us post-wedding to compliment the venue, the staff and the food. We are SO happy with our decision to host our wedding at LAGO and would 100% recommend this venue!“

My review is purely based on my takeout experience.The Good: Food is always tasty and of high quality for the price.The Bad: The service is hit and miss with them missing parts of your order (like the corn bread in the fried chicken or a side dish here and there). We have taken to pointing out in the special instructions to include all parts of the meal. The are rarely ready at the time indicated on the take out app.The Ugly: -- Salsagate --Today we ordered food for 4 online using the Montana's app. Order was placed early to be picked up at 2:30pm. When I arrived at 2:30, the order was not ready. After waiting 20 minutes for the order which I had paid for the waitress approaches me and asks me if I had paid for extra salsa that was ordered with the Nachos. I said yes, and showed her my invoice from the phone app. After several more minutes she comes back and tells me that I must pay for the extra salsa if I want them. I was confused and annoyed at this point as I had been waiting there for an order over 20 minutes late and they are arguing about a $2.67 salsa in a total order of $108.50 which was already paid for. They are having a hard time figuring out how the app displays the payment breakdown. I think a proper business having issues figuring out their own online order system should give the customer the benefit of the doubt on $2.67 on a $100 plus takeout order with a 15% tip already paid. This especially when they have made the customer wait over 20 minutes for an order that is late!“

After having lunch, I got one of their toffee cookies to-go, which tasted amazing once I microwaved it back home! I tried a "bullet-coffee" for the first time, which is just a double shot of espresso with coconut oil and butter. Apparently, it improves cognitive function and metabolism - making it particularly good for those on a keto diet. Also, to all eco-conscious coffee lovers out there, if you bring your own mug, they reduce your costs by $0.50.Finally, this place supports local artists, placing handmade mugs on display for sale. Simple but bright and open dining room with a combo of booths and tables. We had no issue getting a seat along with a very friendly greeting when we arrived. The menu is excellent with all of the usual favourites. The portions are generous, you're not leaving this place hungry. My friend had pancakes and I had the Canadian omelette. Delish! Recommended!“
