4 star is for their salt bread and lovely service. Came here on a weekend to try their salt bread. Had to wait about 30 minutes as they have freshly made batches coming out about 3x a day. Not a big deal at all! We decided to get a snack from a neighbouring food stall while we waited. When the salt bread was ready, we got 3. We ate one fresh there and it was really delicious (can't really go wrong with freshly baked bread). Nice and buttery and salty without being too greasy. It was super tasty. We had another one at home and even warming it up a bit, didn't taste as good. Would highly recommend eating them as soon as you get them! Service was also great. So nice. Would definitely buy their salt bread again if in the area and would give their other baked goods like the red bean bun a try too. Ps. They have interesting drinks on the menu as well!

Very friendly staff. They have cakes, pastries, drinks and coffee. It’s inside World on yonge food court.I contacted them because they told me to order via KakaoTalk message, but there was no response for 3 days… Why is there a KakaoTalk open chat?

The best salt bread in town! THE BEST ?Salt bread was very popular in Korea, so I really wanted to try it, but I happened to find it sold here while passing by. As its reputation suggests, it was truly delicious with a rich buttery flavor and saltiness. Also, I heard that a famous bakery in North York had salt bread and it was delicious, so I tried it today (it was more expensive) and the Gyu's was definitely much more delicious!!May your future prosper! The salt bread is steamed here!

I've tried their salt bread, custard cream, red bean soboro, garlic bread, regular red bean, and croquette. I happened to get there when the salt bread was just coming out, so how can hot fresh bread taste bad. It was fine, but mediocre at best as I've tasted better ones in Korea and in the US. However, since Canada doesn't have many places serving it, again, it was fine. The rest of the bread were underwhelming... they all had a bitter after taste. Compared to its price I wouldn't be sought after this place. I will try their drinks or bingsu as there aren't many dessert places around that area, but won't give their bread another shot unfortunately..I tasted various breads, but at the end it had a bitter taste and didn't feel special, so I have no intention of repurchasing it. I especially like salt bread and custard bread, but the custard bread was so bad that I was upset. I came here after hearing a friend say it was delicious, so I was very disappointed.

I had a warm salted butter bread. It was delicious! Crispy on the outside, buttery and soft on the inside.

I came here to go to Seasons and stopped by here. Wow. I bought a bread full of milk cream. It's really really good. I can't believe I can eat this Korean bakery flavor in Canada?! That's not just the basic Korean taste either. Delicious Korean Bakery Tastes!!!!! Plus, they are very kind as they taste! The cake looks delicious too, so I'm going to buy it later.

Popped into the shop for dessert with my cousin, who had a hankering for that Korean-style milky shaved ice. My soy allergy, which oddly enough makes me steer clear of anything circular (like beans), narrowed our options to fruity, candy-like, or black sesame flavors. Double-checking for allergens, I was reassured by the staff that they could set aside any offending ingredients in my order. When our order arrived, it was noticeably smaller than expected. The flavor was decent, but the occasional ice chunk disrupted the smooth experience, hinting at a possible milk-and-water mix used to cut costs--a no-go for true milky shaved ice aficionados. My three-star rating is a nod to the accommodating staff who navigated my dietary needs, not the dessert itself. It's unlikely I'll revisit for the shaved ice unless it's the pick of a different friend group for something else.

The bread is fresh and delicious. The coffee has a luxurious taste, perhaps because it is made from good coffee beans. I ate the salt bread on time and it was really delicious. At 2 or 4 o'clockGo~

Had their salted butter roll, kimchi bun and a condensed milk bun. ALL THREE were absolutely phenomenal. The kimchi bun was unassuming, but especially delicious. All pastries were served warm. Super soft, excellent sugar level and perfect textures (soft, fluffy, crispy exteriors).

Had the salted butter bread and muscat ade. Bread was good but not worth the 3.50 price tag. The drink tastes good but not worth the price either as it was 3/4 ice.

gyusbakelab is a bakery hidden inside a very underrated food court in worldonyonge/shopsonyonge. They are Toronto's first ever bakery to specialize in salted butter bread. This sensational bread from Korea is simple, crispy, and delicious, the locals love it and it sells out so fast. Highly recommnended!gyusbakelab also has many other bakery items and drinks. We tried a few things:Salted butter breadSweet potato latteNutella cream pastriesGarlic breadCRed bean breadCondensed milk bread

I ate red bean bread and salt bread and it was so delicious. It tastes like what I had in Korea. It felt like eating Korean bread in Canada... I ordered the cake as a gift. You made it so beautifully. The recipient asked me where I bought it and said it was so delicious, so I felt good about giving it as a gift.It was good

I've been dropping by Gyu's Bake Lab at World on Yonge for about four months now, mostly because it's super convenient. It's a cozy little spot on the 2nd floor, right by the escalator - you can't miss it. Now, let's talk about their salted butter bread 소금빵. There's a sign that promises fresh batches at 12 and 4. But, let me tell you, if you're planning your visit around that schedule, maybe don't. More often than not, it's a bit of a wait. The fact that they are still so often late, four months after opening, feels like lack of planning and disrespect of customer's time at this point... The salted butter bread itself? It's okay, but nothing extraordinary. If you've had it in Korea, this one might leave you a bit underwhelmed. For the price they charge, I'd expect a bit more in flavour and texture. Overall, their item prices are slightly higher than other Korean bakeries like Mill and Gateau in the area. The real winner here, though, is their croquette. It's got the perfect crunch on the outside, and the filling is both generous and tasty. This is definitely worth a try. Service-wise, the staff are friendly, no complaints there. But here's a tip: if they're running behind and ask you to pay in advance, maybe think twice. I've done that sometimes, expecting a short wait, only to end up hanging around way longer than planned. Their shaved ice is pretty good -- decent portion, cute presentation, and the price feels right. As for the display case, it's charming and lets you eye all the goodies, though sometimes the price tags are playing hide-and-seek. So, why do I keep going back? Honestly, it's mostly about me being at World on Yonge often and Gyu's Bake Lab being right there. It's a decent enough place for a quick snack, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it

The cake was too dry... I don't know why on the outside, but it was hard and dry on the inside... ㅠㅠ The salt bread seemed ordinary. I bought several breads around 2:30 and kept them, and when I went to pick them up later at around 3:20, they said they had forgotten and sold them to another customer and asked if they could come back at 4:00. I hope you value your time~~
