Very good food on WLU’s main campus, and some brilliant times had by all at the Fresh Food Company Dining Hall.

I came to the university on a tour and was forced to eat at their main dining hall. I was expecting a decent meal from the decent university that Laurier is, however my meal at this dinning hall was horrible!!! The pasta tasted like nothing, the pizza was sloppy and the ice cream was served in a grossly inefficient manner. Even the apples were all expired and covered in a thin white substance. Furthermore, after suffering through this meal, I experienced intense diarrhea for days afterwards!

not good food. French toast and eggs can be raw sometimes, pizza is mediocre and the only thing most people eat. They make the same pasta most days but just change the name to something fancy and usually most meals like the ramen or chicken is cooked weirdly ( sometimes over cooked and sometimes raw) and is bland. Their isn’t much fresh fruit options only apples and oranges and the veggies are alright but veggies and cold cut meat for sandwich lays out all day.

1. The taste of the meals is hit and miss. Many meals are tasteless and may be worse on weekends.2. Most of the staff are very kind, but sometimes some people lose their patience, but this is understandable since they have to open for business all day long3. The price is too expensive for students without a meal plan. A certain discount should be considered for all full-time students.

Here's the rundown for the perspective students, since I looked at this when I was applying. Food is overall mid so I personally wouldn't get a meal plan. Getting the apartment style meal plan is better, since you can spend it at the food court and here, and alternate so you don't get tired of either. Keep in mind they're literally cooking for hundreds of students so you can't expect too much. A blessing during the exam season though

The food here can be hit or miss. Sometimes, choices such as salmon tastes amazing, and others aren't appetizing at all. When trying to feed so many students, focus on serving food you can cook well, even if it's more bland, rather than screwing up these fancy dishes. I have also seen many food handling procedures being broken, most commonly the cross contamination of raw eggs and cooked food. This is unacceptable when serving this many people on a daily basis, and charging them so much for their meal plans. I would like to make a shout out to Mary, who always remembers me and makes the BEST omelettes ever! Also, to the sweetheart that greets me every morning and never fails to recognize me, thank you!

The food options are terrible every time I've been there, most of the food has the most bland taste imaginable, and it's mainly greasy processed food. There is not near enough fruits and vegetables available (just apples, oranges and bananas), and you're lucky if they're even stocked. Also, not enough seating. $3,000 for 1 semester of this 5 day meal plan is nonsense and I wish I had known how bad it was going to be before throwing so much money away on it.
