Went there this past Sunday. Service was quick and the variety of food good, but on the pricey side. Although it was rather cold outside, the A/C was blowing cold air, making the place rather freezing.

Food is good, but expensive and service was slow. Paying with cash for the 10% discount is probably not a good idea. I tried to leave a nice tip, but they wouldn't make change. A server was called over and they told me I paid $40 less than I actually did (as if i didn't even tip!!). ?

Asking 20% tips for take out orders, rediculous. I am so mad and disappointed at their terrible services and overpriced food. Don't recommend to anyone.

Pretty good! I got the dolsot bibimbap with beef while my friend got the kamjatang. For my bibimbap, the rice in the stone bowl was a little bit dry and potentially stale, but all of the other ingredients seemed fresh. The side dishes were great too! We got another round of the braised potato side dishes (gamja jorim) that are to die for. My friend’s kamjatang was a little hard to eat as there are quite a few bones with not much meat, so keep that in mind if you order it!

Thoroughly enjoyed the gamjatang soup! This thing felt bottomless and had so much ingredients!!! So glad we tried this place for some good wholesome korean soup!

This place seems like it has new owners and it is no longer the service and even the food we once enjoyed. We visited last night and something as basic as tea, they could not serve us because they had none! The server claimed they only serve tea in winter! They only have hot water, I asked then for some lemon and he said they don't have any! The condiments were less than usual the food was not the same taste, the pickled cucumbers were just sweet and a couple sat and left before ordering their food, must be because they also asked for tea and there was none! Wish we had done the same, We, my family of 3, will NEVER return! Who doesn't have tea?? Hot water, teabags, leaves ? ???

As someone from the GTA, I've had the owl of minerva before at their other locations but something about this location is just so much better. The staff is super nice and the food is so good, I personally love the seafood soondubu. They have raised their prices (guessing due to covid) but it is still super worth your money and a great place to stop in for korean food in waterloo.

Okay food, but overpriced. $14 for 8 steamed dumplings that I'd guess are just frozen is too much.Banchan isn't bad and refills were free so that's nice. The payment policy is really bad. You walk in and everywhere you see it says no debit or credit under $30. That's already a much higher minimum than you see anywhere else (also pretty sure anything above $10 is against Visa/MasterCard terms of service), but doesn't sound like an issue since the price is so high you'll be hungry if you bill is less than $30 anyway. But then when it comes time to pay you're directed to a sign that's falling over on itself at the cash register that says you can only pay cash if you're splitting the bill. It doesn't matter if you're literally splitting the bill or just trying to pay for your own bill (i.e. the items you ordered) - it's cash only.At least cash gets you 10% off. Strange though - a debit transaction doesn't cost more than a few cents which is significantly less than 10% of even their $30 minimum purchase.

One of the best south korean food i had in Ontario.Even the veggie option (Kimchi fried rice) was impeccable. All the Banchan's were delicious. Nothing fancy in the ambience but definitely quality food.

A few days ago I was craving some Korean food, because I had just finished my exams. I decided to treat myself by going to The Famous OWL of Minerva! The food here is amazing and definitely a must-go if you’re ever in the mood for some authentic Korean food. I ended up ordering some Kimchi Fried Rice - stir fried kimchi with rice, assorted veggies topped off with a perfect sunny-side-up egg ~ and DalkChulPan - spicy stir-fried chicken severed on a sizzling hot plate. The ambience of the restaurant itself was quite homely making the food even more enjoyable! All in all this is one of my go-to comfort food restaurants. This restaurant was highly recommended from friends, but don't just take my word for it. Food was delicious and tasted like home-cooked meals. Korean comfort food at its best and will definitely revisit this establishment again.

Authentic Korean cuisine served hot and fresh! An absolutely fantastic experience. I had the Bibimbap with beef and it was everything I wanted.Would have included a pic of the bibimbap but I could not help myself.10/10 would recommend if you're looking for some delicious spicy food. Will be dining again!!
