I regret not eating from them SOONER, my local friends said this place was infamous but I took a chance today. got the half n half, the delivery person took 25 mins cus he had a couple stops to make (ubereats) BUT the chicken was incredibly Crispy and it was cooked soooo beautifully like so juicy and moist n tender soft. Unexpected for a boneless cut. Whenever I get fried chicken delivered this is unlikely and my afterthought is “huh would’ve been better at the restaurant” but, oh boy, this was different. I just want to relive the first bite. The sauce was spicy yet the sweetness perfectly recovered you from it. Glossy. Loved how there were a couple fries thrown in. (Also crunchy !), The originals were bit bland like I was left wanting for somthing but still incredibly good just dipped them in a lil salt n leftover drippings of sauce. The pieces in the middle that were half saucy and half original were absolute bliss haha. Overall I really recommend this place or atleast their fried chicken! Irresistible. Generously portioned too could feed 2 hungry people. Or 1 glutton (me).

This restaurant has steadily deteriorated over the years. The portion serving sizes were way too small, no wonder why they didnt have any customers, It was also way too expensive compared to other restaurants in the plaza. The only redeeming factor was their fried chicken but tbh seoul soul offers similar quality for lesser the price. I think this will be my last visit.

Went to this place for the first time for dinner with my husband. We ordered the spicy rice cakes and the half-and-half fried chicken plate which came with the regular fried chicken and their sauced chicken. I thought we would be able to choose the sauce, but it only came with their standard sauce. The food came out fast and was made fresh. The rice cake dish was good. The chicken was tender and well seasoned albeit a little bit too saucy. The side dishes didn’t come until the chicken came which I thought was weird. We had gotten a medium chicken plate and it was more than enough food for my husband and I. Before we finished eating, I realized that at some point we were the only patrons in the restaurant. They didn’t play music or anything so we just sort of sat in this awkward silence as we ate. Typical to a lot of Asian restaurants there wasn’t really any service and when I wanted a refill of water, I didn’t want to speak out into the silence so I shared some of my husbands.

Got fried chicken and jjajangmyeon, food tasted good but portion sizes are small for what you pay for. Service is a bit slow.

as someone who’s never had korean fried chicken, this was amazinggg !!prices are pretty high but it’s worth it to support a small family owned business :). owners are super sweet, elders as well and very accommodating to any of ur needs.you can take out or dine in!the atmosphere on the other hand is a bit messy and at times there is a fowl smell, but overall the food was most important to me haha

This is like traveling back to Seoul, South Korea. I had the bulgogi mushroom stew and it’s very authentic tasting. I appreciated the cost per portion and find this restaurant to be super consistent. I usually prefer takeout but the space is cute and pretty much what you would expect. 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for some Korean comfort food.

On a neverending quest to find good Southeast Asian food in Waterloo, I headed down to Sowon Korea Dining. When my friend and I went there, we ordered a spicy bulgogi with rice (which was their daily lunch special) along with a seasoned Korean crispy-fried boneless chicken. Due to the spicy bulgogi having just the right amount of spice to not make it overwhelming, the meal was utterly delicious - paired with a tangy pickled radish, the bulgogi was a mixture of several delectable flavors! It was made only better with the crispy fried boneless chicken - eaten hot, the boneless chicken was crispy, yet tender, making for a filling dish despite ordering a smaller portion. Comfortably recommended! To hear about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

I had a lovely time! The couple that owns the eatery were lovely and the food was perfect! While I can't say they were always paying mind to those eating for the sake of getting beverage refills and one would have to go up and ask, it was never an issue and still wouldn't impact my review of saying it was decorated well, had a friendly atmosphere, was superbly cooked food, and most certainly would promote others to stop in. :)

I would rank this as a middle of the range Korean restaurant. It's not going to blow your socks off. The service was okay and could have been better for a sit down restaurant, like offering to refill water when glasses are empty. The fried chicken was good, and I'd recommend that be tried. Overall, I found it to be pricy for 3 dishes we ordered, which came out to $60+ (not including tip).
