After trying to bring us the wrong tables food three times, they brought us a very underwhelming plate of food. Coming from a food industry background I wouldn't have served either of the pieces of chicken they did. Unfortunately this wasn't our first negative experience here likely will not be back to this location.

Tried to have dinner here at 7:30 on a Friday evening. After waiting at the door for five minutes and seeing a dozen uncleared tables (making us nervous), we were seated and left unattended for ten minutes. We saw a number of tables seated but no one had any food. When a server finally attended we were informed that they had no chicken. Not sure why the person who seated us couldn’t inform us they didn’t have food instead of having us wait at a table for a while.Never seen anything like it in what is likely by this point hundreds of meals at Swiss chalet in many cities. We left without eating.

Everytime my wife and I come here.. three times a month.. It’s the same young lady working and she is always by herself.I can’t imagine how stressed she is.Why aren’t there other employees help serve?There are 10 tables right now that she is Serving.. on her own.This is absolutely ridiculous.

My husband and I came for dinner at the Boardwalk location and was greeted with bad service. After waiting 5 minutes for a hostess to come to the front we were seated. We sat for at least 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table, not even to say "I'll be right there". A couple who had sat down right before us had their drinks delivered and their order taken while we still sat. Why should anyone receive such bad service especially when the restaurant is NOT busy!!?? We got up and left and went to the Swiss Chalet on Weber in Waterloo. The service and food was excellent!! From now on we will travel the extra kms to get enjoyable experience! Why would anyone go to the Boardwalk location!

We went to the Boardwalk location on January 27, 2024. The place was busy and our server, Vanshika was wonderful. All the servers that I could see were just about running around trying to keep customers happy and serve us as quickly as possible.There was a bit of a wait for our food, but they told us as we walked in that it would be 20 minutes for white meat. They were upfront about it.Our appetizer and meals were fresh, warm and delicious. They even offered free desserts because of the wait. We were out for a Saturday night meal and were more than happy to be served when the food was ready.We did overhear one lady complaining about the wait, and the gentleman who dealt with her had the patience of a saint. He did an excellent job keeping his cool with a difficult customer. The staff that night did a fantastic job.We will keep going back as the food is excellent every time we go.

update to my review below:I have finally received an appropriate resolution by following up head office. Thank you to the business development officer who made this situation right after so much time.DISASTER - large group orderI work at a large local institution. I ordered (ahead of time, working directly with the restaurant via email) 20 meals for an end of year holiday lunch. To avoid delivery hassles (our institution is difficult to navigate) I picked the order up. I did everything I could to avoid any issues with the meals, logistics, etc.When I went to pick up the food, there were three large red bags brought out to me (on time) and an employee graciously helped me take them to my car. I asked the employee if she needed help taking the bags back in and she said no I'm good have a great day. I got into my car and I left. Once I got back to the workplace, we discovered that many items were missing from the meal - drinks, salads, cranberry sauce and chocolates for the festive specials, butter for the rolls, cutlery...the list goes on and on. I tried phoning the restaurant for two hours - only getting a busy signal. I even called the main Swiss Chalet customer service line, but they were unable to help. I hoped that someone could drive the items over to us (our lunch hour is only an hour long and the distance from my workplace to my parking lot is 10 minutes - by the time you add all of the back and forth, the hour and lunch would be up). Additionally, it was the restaurant's fault, so they should have brought the items to us. Later I found that a message was left on my office phone, even though I clearly stated multiple times via email to contact my cell phone, accusing me of forgetting to take the items. I never saw those items - only 3 red bags were brought out to me that contained individually bundled and bagged, and labelled meals. It was the restaurant's responsibility to ensure I had everything when I left. Someone should have either called me on my cell phone like I had asked, or an employee should have driven those items to me. This was our holiday lunch, and it was ruined. People paid for items that were never received.I finally got a hold of a manager that day, and I was told she would work with the general manager to come up with a solution. I have received no response, and no resolution from anyone to date. There has been zero effort to correct this situation on the part of management.In this day in age people do not have money to just give away...shame on you to the management of the Swiss Chalet at the Boardwalk. Our festive specials were not "festive," and to date you have made no effort to make it right.

My Spouse and I came here for dinner at this location for the first time.I waited at the front door for at least 5 mins cause no one was around watching the front.We finally got seated, when the only waitress came to take our order she was smiling and was polite. I ordered the 1/4 chicken dinner (white meat) she took our orders then came back to tell me there is a delay on the white meat and it will be 15 mins for it. Ok, fine, 20 mins past and the waitress came back out to tell me the chicken still isn't cooked all the way and it will be another 7 mins and walked away. Finally after 10 mins our food was out. So we waited 30mins for our food!!! The manager came over and told us she will give us a 20% discount for it being late, which was only $8 and change. I managed to get a few bits and had to ask for it to go so I can leave and pick up my daughter from an outing.Will definitely NOT be returning to this location.
