My mom and I went one day for lunch. Owner is welcoming and extremely polite and attentive. Dining room was clean and immaculate. We had halibut and fries and fish was battered and fried fresh. Portions were so huge that mom and I shared a plate and couldn't even finish one two piece meal. My brother, uncle and mom come here often and they come back because of how friendly the owner is and how good the food is. Please come out and support this small business!

First time I was ever there and the halibut was paper thin and soggy. Totally disappointed. Just terrible. Not even sure it was halibut they gave us. Should have read the reviews first because we would have got our dinner elsewhere. Won’t be back Jack!

My boyfriend and I came in here and the first thing we noticed was how awesome the customer service was! The owner(?), was really nice. Now on to the food, the fish is delicious! The batter is light, tasty and cooked perfectly. We got halibut and haddock. The fries are pillowy soft! Can’t wait to go back

This fish and chip experience starts from the time you come to the counter - the owner is welcoming, respectful and always open to a discussion about substitutions. Customer service is top notch. The food was fresh (crisp), portions were excellent and it hit all the right spots. The owner even came over to get the empty dishes when done. I got to see the batter used to dip the fish in and it looked freshly prepared which points to why the fish tasted so good. I just found out they have a gluten free option for their batter so will have to try this out at a future date.I ordered their Halibut & Chips lunch special that comes with drink.Ordering deep friend fish and chips over Uber or Skip and then complaining about food freshness is just poor review etiquette. Visit the location and you will truly understand what good food and service means.

Was craving some fish and chips. Heard good things about this little place in downtown Whitby. The guy was closing down for the night, so I was his last customer. Picked up my order and went home. The food was good, wasn't great. I got what I was expecting, nothing really stood out to me.

This Fish & Chips shop is a gem. We ordered the Haddock & Chips and Fish on Bun. The food was delicious, the batter on the fish was light crispy and the homemade fries hit the spot. There is inexpensive local parking and the owner is very friendly. We will definitely be back!!!!
If you want really good, fresh, crispy delicious fish and chips, you need to go to Captain George. The portions are massive, everything is always made fresh and very well priced.This is the only place I go for Fish & Chip’s and I’m never disappointed.

Owner was super nice, welcoming and friendly. Got one order to share with my mom and it was huge enough for the both of us . The attached picture is half the portion . He was nice enough to also bring us two plates and utensils to share ! The batter on the fries were also super crispy and mouthwatering !

Stopped here for lunch and was very happy I did. Their French fries are very good, and their haddock was very good. Not too breaded or too greasy. The man working was very friendly and provided great service while I was there. The food was made super quick. Will definitely be back.
