We made a reservation for an 18th birthday celebration through Open Table. When we got there and I said we had a reservation, they said there were no tables left. They told us that everybody was seated at a table. So, we were crammed into a booth where there was nowhere to put our dishes, the food dishes, our drinks, and we were constantly bumping elbows with each other. We asked to be sat in a larger section, but they said they would not open it because they only had two servers working. Then a larger party came in, and that party got seated in the other section that they had previously refused to open up for us. Because it was a birthday, we decided to forge on and make the best of it, but the food portions were so small, it was pretty incredible. This place used to be my go-to, but in the last year, it has progressively declined, and I believe after my experience yesterday, that was my last time I will ever go back. And there is no point in making reservations here. They don't honour it.

Just like other reviews said, the service was bad. We ordered soup, the cups came without a spoon. I asked the server for a spoon about 5 times and for gluten free soy sauce and every time was told, oh yes yes, and then the server disappears. My soup got cold before I was able to eat. After the 5th time, my husband went to the bar asked for the GF soy sauce and a spoon to finally enjoy the soup. Food was mediocre. We didn't know it'll be all you can eat, so for the quality and the price, I would have rather went a la carte and maybe then had more options on the roll. We paid for 4 kids and all they had was couple of fries plates. You will get charged for kids whether they eat or not. We ordered a salad, turned out to be a bite size, a tiny plate the size of a coffee cup plate. Ordering the food through thr tablet not with a server, and every time you add few items, you need to push the button to order and wait for the server to come and fi alize placing the order which could take some time and then your food will take extra time to be prepared. I would not recommend this place, unless you think this is the only sushi place you can go to in whitby. We were visiting from the US and wanted to take our friends to a sushi dinner, we were very embarrassed at the end of the trip.

Niki was absolutely amazing! My wife was pregnant and she was so kind and spoke to us a lot. She was a great server and very sweet. Would definitely come back as the food was great and the service was even better.

We had to change the time last minute and they were fine with that. When we arrived the table was set for 9 people, not 13. This was fixed. The service staff didn't want to explain anything or make it clear how things worked and for some this was their first experience. Not all food arrived and some showed up after we had dessert.

Food from this place is usually good but keeping warm foods such as soup out of same bag as cold sushi doesn't seem to be common practice here. Even when ordering takeout online I leave message in notes to keep soup separate from sushi and they still pack them together some times. When they follow this good practice food is really good and the dining experience is also nice. I just feel keeping hot foods away from raw fish is food safety 101 and shouldn't have to be requested.

We went to another local sushi place thinking we could have similar dinner experiences for a little lower prices but as soon as we sat down we were left disappointed so we left and came here. It's so worth the difference in price. The food choices and quality is top notch. ? the staff is very friendly. We left very full and satisfied. I highly recommend this location above all in Durham.
