Such a cute cafe with pastries like meat pies, spinach pies, cheese pies and SANDWICHES. First time here, and I'm beyond impressed with the options for food. I will be coming back again.Vegetarian options: Many many veggie options. Spinach, cheese and mini pizzas are vegetarian options.

This place is most certainly open, we had a great coffee, the staff are multilingual and very funny, great banter and lovely coffee, would highly recommend.

What an excellent find. A lovely little cafe just off the Royal Mile. The coffee is really good but the best bit was the honey cake, a must try!

Literally 2 steps away from the castle and yet not in a noisy busy Main Street This little gem is definitely worth the detour Very good atmosphere inside

Charming little place, great atmosphere. Best scones I've ever had, and their chai latte was delicious. Very nice service, and a great location. Can't recommend it enough.

We went and they said they were open according to their google hours but all their chairs and tables were stacked up. Not sure if this place is even still open for business or not.

The hideout is a great spot to head for a quick coffee and a bite to eat! The coffee is always consistent, the friendliness of the staff is always tops! It was the first place my partner and I went to when we first moved to the area and the guys made us feel so welcome. You can be sure to have a great experience in the hideout. The staff always ask you how you are and are always up for a chat and a skit. They really give their time to their customers. I also love that they just know our coffee order now. Keep up the smashing work guys ✌?

We love this place. Discovered it through a friend who goes there often. Great breakfasts, cake and coffee in an unpretentious space that feels warm and welcoming. Handy for Leith Links

First note that the address of the Hideout Cafe we went to is 5 Upper Bow and it is now a small space (unlike some of the pictures on Tripadvisor). Speaking just for myself, I though the mozzarella sandwich there was delicious. However, my husband did not like his sandwich at all (I can't remember which he chose). The food menu is very limited at this cafe. Basically we went to the counter and pointed to sandwiches which were in the case and they heated them up. We were lucky to find some seats as there weren't many. I will say that lunch here was inexpensive and convenient as we were shopping on Lawnmarket St. nearby.

Located right across the road from our accommodation this cafe was a fantastic find! Great coffee and cakes and super friendly service. [Double check the address though as based on the photos on Tripadvisor the location may have changed recently].

A lovely little cafe we happened to stumble across in Old Town, Edinburgh. Reminded me of a cafe in Amsterdam, we just had a tea & a hot chocolate (which my husband said was really good!) The pastries looked divine (we’d just had breakfast so didn’t get one, wish I had done though!!) Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lovely! Would happily go back when visiting Edinburgh again!
