We had the penne vodka and risotto special! We were warned, they were made to serve so it took 20-30 minutes - but worth the wait! Cheers to the chef

Amazing we ordered lamb. It was on the menu but we wanted it cooked differently and they complied they made our dinner excellent and memorable. The wait staff really took good care of us.

Great lunch today at Cavallino Wine Bar. I am an Italian, born and raises in Italy and I honestly felt at home. The food is delicious and definitely fresh. The Brunelli wine I drunk is something unbelievable, from Lambardi. Check it out my pictures!!

Il Cavallino went over & above to help me co-ordinate a surprise for our dear friends. The food, ambiance & service was exceptional. Thank you for making our night extra special. M. Savoia

If you're looking for delicious and authentic Jamaican food then you've come to the right spot! Verses surprised me in the best way possible, and I have a new love for Jamaican food. Their goat curry is out of this world, and this week I will be taking my coworkers to try out their other menu items. It's a hidden gem if you're into that island flavour! I definitely recommend it. Just make sure to bring cash with you!

I'm writing this review as I'm still licking my lips. As I drove by, I was not sure if I had the right place, the sign outside did not say Versus? It just said "Jamaican Fried Chicken" which describes the food not a name. I drive past it not sure if they had closed and new owner?? Since it was the only Caribbean restaurant there I stopped in. I found out that it was the correct place, was told they just changed the name nothing else (no reason given). It's a small place, located in a strip mall on the north side of Islington just east side of Steeles. Just a note, you cannot turn into the mall if you are driving west to east so you will have to turn onto Steeles to enter. Walked in, was greeted by a man having a afternoon beer (not sure who he was but he made me feel welcome), music playing (Bob Marley). Rang the bell on the counter for service, was greeted by a nice woman who took the time to explain the menu and informed me that the chicken lunch special ends at 2pm (I was there at 2:40pm). I happily decided on the Curry Goat, choice of small, Med & large was available, I opted for the Med @ $12.00. I opened the container, it was filled with a healthy serving of rice and beans, a good scoop of goat placed on the side and gravy drizzled over the rice along with some slaw on the top. Eating this for the first time, I was impressed. The goat was tender, tasty and nicely spiced, the rice and beans were cooked to perfection and tasted very good as well, the curry gravy added to the taste of the rice and was a very good pairing. I was impressed, this was probably one of the better places I've had this meal at in a long time. If you are in the area, well worth a try!!

Anyone that knows me knows how big of a fan I am of Jamaican food. I have had my fair share for Jamaican food as well. In the area I work we have a huge variety of Italian restaurants but I have not seen anything Jamaican. A few weeks back a co-worker of mine pulls pulls out some jerk chicken for lunch and says he got it from a restaurant around the corner. Finally I found Jamaican food close to work. I just had to try it. Every Jamaican restaurant is different. More spicy, less spicy. Extra gravy, less gravy so its kind of hard to do a comparison to other Jamaican restaurants. Upon entering i noticed the restaurant was super clean and I was greeted by an older Jamaican man. Soon after an older Jamaican woman appeared. This is when i know the food was going to be good. Like mothers home cooking. I ordered the curry goat with rice and peas. The goat was super tender, gravy was super tasty with a bit of a kick. Spicy but bearable. Left me licking my fingers. The rice and peas were also cooked well. They have a pretty large menu so I will have to return so I can say that I tried everything. Anyone in the Islington and Steeles area check out VERSES.

Burgers or wings. Are your best bet but everything is decent value. 50 cent wings on Tuesday is a bonus. There are games to play and games to watch, friendly staff and colourful regulars.

Amazingly new and fresh sports bar! Surprisingly more reasonable than JACK Astors AND better food and better portions! Not to mention hot waitresses! At Jacks I always felt I was getting ripped off.
