What a wonderful meal. Loved the special Jeager Schnitzel Sauté! My hubby had the buffet. Our daughter loves the Chicken Paprikas and cucumber salad. My favorite dessert is the Dobos Torta! We always make sure to make a reservation since they are only open on Thursdays and Fridays!

If you are homesick for Hungarian food or would like to try it, this is a good place for Hungarian style food. We had the buffet, allowing us to try a bit of most of the food on the menu. A bit pricey as an option, but now we know exactly which dishes suit us best. The shepherd's pie, the sausage (made in house), the longos, and the chicken paprika were all excellent. The service was also very good, patiently providing us with information about each dish while we decided what to order.

I have come here since I was a little kid. Since they were in the old location. This place brings back so many memories of eating with my mom and sister. We have moved many times, all over the country yet this restaurant holds a special place in our hearts and there is nothing like it in California or Chicago. I crave their food every day. Thank you for giving my family so many amazing memories and such incredible food!! It truly can’t be replicated!

Since I was a child, Novak’s has gone above and beyond to ensure I have a special birthday meal. Matilda and Karen made this year even more special. They treat you like family and the food is life changing! And always, always save room for dessert.

Decided to try this place for lunch. The lack of info online with prices and menu options and then the added 4% up charge at the end to process my card and also the fact they are open 2 days a week is the logic behind my review.Lunch items were all priced at $18 a plate. They did comp us the fried bread appetizer and it tasted like a funnel cake without the sugar and came with some type of strawberry spread. 3/5 stars.I had the beef dish and soup. It was kinda like a beef stew in a gravy over a home made noodle. 2/5- nothing special here.Gf had the chicken dish. It was bland and also served over the same kinda noodle.Soup appetizer that was included goulash was alright. Reminded me of beef veggie soup from progresso. 3/5For $44 lunch for 2 people - I won’t return.I encourage them to be more transparent with the menu and pricing. The service was warm and friendly so it is hard to give such a low score to such nice people but it is what it is

The food was amazing, authentic, and filling. The service is like family. HIGHLY Recommended. I recommend the Shepard's Platter so you can try a little of everything. Make sure to make reservations or just walk in to buy dessert to go! You can also purchase their salad dressing dry mix, it is a well loved gift in our family!

They haven't been open for years. They usually do private events with early sign ups. Ive trued for years to go but they never reopened to the public

I can not even begin to express how fabulous our experience at Novak's Hungarian Restaurant was. The customer service was excellent, everyone was extremely friendly. Our meals were delicious, the seasonings were perfect, and the serving sizes are plentiful. It's authentic Hungarian cuisine, something that's difficult to find. The decor is beautiful - all from Hungary, and the pastries! I'm delighted that we found this place, we will be sure to dine here when passing through. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would!

I was very excited to find this restaurant while traveling through the PNW. I grew up eating Hungarian food and gave them a try. The goulash that came with my meal was just like my mom used to make when I was a kid. I had a sampler platter which contained tastes of four of their menu items; a great way to try different things. All the food was delicious. They are only open Thursday and Friday so plan accordingly.

The paprikas was out of control. First time ever trying Hungarian food and it was worth it. Will definitely come back when I’m in the area again, which I hope is soon!

A unique Hungarian food joint in Albany Oregon with a cozy atmosphere, several main entree dishes and unique alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic drinks such as a Raspberry Sprite and Lounberry Alcoholic Cider. Plus several unique desert's and everyday from 5 pm to closing they have a all you can eat buffet version of all there Hungarian dishes and they take reservations. The first chicken item on the menu is one of there signature dishes, it reminds me of a home cooked meal made by grandma! Definitely worth checking out!
