We ordered take out. we got the korean and japanese fried chicken. I've had better. the korean sauce was gochujang with vinegar? i like gochujang but nothing exceptional or reminiscent to any korean fried chicken ive had before. the japanese chicken was unremarkable, i was expecting garlic teriyaki, a sweet sauce but it was bland! the cole slaw and the potato salad base was the same? The food did not stand out for me, it was okay. food (3/5 stars). for take out, you should offer sauce on the side... the chicken was not fried but mush by the time we got home. The container that the chicken was in was very messy. there were vents on the bottom of the box and the korean sauce spilt all over the place, it got on my clothes, the floor of my vehicle, and my kitchen counter. the clean up made this place not worth it for us.

Fun atmosphere. If you are not to hungry, the sample platter is a decent price. They must make their money at the bar as the cocktails are ridiculously priced. There was only 1 waiter on a Friday night, so service was not the best. And, the cocktails took almost 30 minutes - well after we were served our food. I upgraded my chicken from thigh to breast for a small upcharge, but 1 of my 3 pieces was still a chicken thigh. I should be giving them 3 stars, but I want Billy's place to survive. Plus, he's a nice guy :)

Absolutely the worst fried chicken I've ever had, and I never thought I'd say that about fried chicken because it's not exactly rocket science to make even passable fried chicken. This stuff is the worst of all worlds: horrible recipe, poorly prepared/raw, and very expensive. They even canceled our order and didn't tell us until it didn't show up in delivery because they said they were too busy to honor the call-in order. Unbelievable. After ordering (our first time) over $100 "worth" of fried chicken from these jokers, my family all ended up with stomach aches, digestive issues, and an unsatisfied dinner as well as an emptier wallet. Needless to say, we won't be back. Ever.

Well, it's mostly a one-trick pony, but the trick is great. And yes - the trick is the chicken, if that wasn't obvious. I've had their buttermilk version, the Asian versions, the wings, and the popcorn options...they are all pretty consistently good, but it's pretty much that. Yeah - they have a tofu option, but otherwise, decide you really want chicken before you come or skip it. Which chicken is the best will really be up to your tastes and possibly mood. I do think first timers should go for the sampler plate options, which are nice to have available. I wish the sides were elevated, but I kind of feel they are just there. Not bad, just not special. Probably a wasted opportunity that could get into 5-star territory, but running a restaurant business is hard. Nevertheless, making really good fried chicken is not simple to do, and they've done it. So - if that's where you're at, give it a go.

Very cute place! Best fried chicken in Ashland for sure! Love all the sides and flavor options. Their cocktails are delicious. I really like the biscuits and potato salad ?

Finding food worth going out for has gotten difficult lately, but Billy's is definitely worth the trip. I tried the Japanese chicken, Korean chicken, Sriracha Lime wings and a side of truffle fries. Everything was great, but the Korean chicken was the favorite. Happy hour prices are great and made us feel some pre-inflation happiness.I look forward to visiting this chill place with great food again soon.

I don’t like to post negative reviews, but my chicken was honestly very bad. I wish I had read a review like this before ordering and wasting $20 on completely flavorless chicken. I will say the servers were super sweet on the phone when I called to order and the biscuits were good. I came here for the chicken- I ordered a white meat plate. Oh do I regret trying to eat this. This chicken has literally no flavor at all. Also they put pickles in the box which cause the juice to get on the bottom of the chicken and makes it’s soggy. I am surprised to see any good reviews about the chicken here, but they seem to be from a few years ago. I will never be back.

Some of the best chicken I've eaten in a while! I would recommend getting the Asian chicken sampler, my personal favorite was the Korean chicken. Also the potato salad and biscuit I had were quite delicious. The restaurant has a very minimalist casual feel and was not busy when we came in around 5:30 for dinner. I will say our server was not very attentive. He only came to the table to take our order and give us our food, leaving us very thirsty when our quite small jug of water was empty (it wasn't able to fill all four of our empty glasses a single time. I also had to call him over from the other side of the (empty!) restaurant to get our check. But I think the food more thank makes up for the lackluster service.

With all the great yelp reviews, We really wanted to like Billy's Fried Chicken. We ordered the Korean fried chicken and they described it as sweet and spicy. However, it had no sweetness at all. Just spicy. If they've added some sweetness then it would have fullfilled expectations. We were thoroughly disappointed.Sorry.Maybe they more known for their classic fried chicken? Stay away from the Korean Fried Chicken.

I really wanted to love this place? but the service was extremely slow and the popcorn chicken had basically no chicken.

Nice atmosphere but the food and service were terrible. They were out of over half of options for sides when we went in (no fries, biscuits, kimchi or coleslaw, all the good ones). The chicken was a little over-cooked and the batter on the chicken was so thick it tasted like there was as much breading as there was chicken. The only sauce they had available for the chicken was ranch, they were also out of hot sauce apparently? Who serves chicken wings with no hot sauce? The Korean chicken came with sauce but was completely soggy and had no level of heat to it even though it was supposed to be spicy. There were only 4 beers on tap (odd for a fried chicken spot) and the waitress didn’t even know which IPA was on tap, when she came back after looking she just said “Ninkasi” and didn’t even know which one of their many IPA’s it was. When we placed our drink order to start the meal it took about 15 minutes for them to get our beers to us and the restaurant wasn’t even half way full. The waitress also couldn’t remember who ordered which beer or plate of food even though there were only 3 of us there and the restaurant was almost empty. The best part about the whole experience was definitely the atmosphere which was honestly the only good part
