Tasty and traditional Mexican food with an artisanal flourish destined to delight your tastebuds. If you like mezcal cocktails, this is definitely the place to go. The bar is stocked with an array of mezcal & tequila. The horchata & hibiscus are made in-house and deliciously refreshing. Love the street tacos, elotes, enchiladas, chile relleno & omg the fajitas!!! Lots of vegetarian options and yummy desserts too. Great service & a fun place to hang!

Always call first this place has a habit of posting hours on google that are vastly inaccurate. They also allow doordash to charge you when they store closed and the poor driver gets there and wasted money and the freaking place is closed. Food good but these guys are on constant vacation! Very disappointed!

Whenever they are open the place is incredible. But they are rarely open during the posted hours. Good luck getting food here. Probably the last 8/10 times I’ve tried to go during their posted hours they have been closed. I will change this to a 5 star review if the online hours are changed to represent when they are really open.

Restaurant is in a good location but the food was average. Had the chorizo tacos and the chorizo was bland. Maybe go there for a drink and somewhere else for food.

Food was ok. Service was terrible. Waitress was absolutely miserable and hating life. I get it, under staffed, but if you hate your job that much - quit. You can get a job ANYWHERE right now. Will not be coming back, too bad though because the Michelada was good.

I have been to Mezcal twice. The first time there the food was great, even if the wait staff was inattentive with an "I'd rather not be here" attitude. The second time was enough for me to never go back. The food was subpar. The queso with chorizo appetizer was definitely microwaved, hard and chewy, and the rest of the food was flavorless, the wait staff was on their phones and I had to get up from the table to ask for plates, water and in a small space it was hard to get anyones attention. Needless to say I will not be back.

Mezcal has the potential to be a great restaurant. Wonderful location, great outside seating overlooking Ashland plaza, and a great menu. The problem is it is SO disorganized. No one answers their phone. Reservations are lost. The wait staff is the luck of the draw. It is like their management has left the building. It's a shame. Could be one of the best places to eat in Ashland... except for those tiny corn tortillas. They do have a great selection from the bar. The food is delicious. Even the tiny tortillas are good... they are just too tiny to put anything inside them. Great place to take out of town guest. Just be sure to get the name of the person who took your reservation.
My wife and I are regulars,here. We love the food.My only complaint is their recent unannounced closings on Sundays and not answering phones, when some one is there or not having a message saying that they are closed,for what ever reason. I suspect that some of their being closed on some Sundays, has to do with staffing problems .However,they need to keep folks informed.

The food was good, but one of the servers was unnecessarily rude for no reason. Three of us sat at a table near the bar. The room was dark enough that we couldn't read the menu. I asked our server if he could turn on the lights and he was happy to help. Another patron mentioned how nice it was to be able to finally see his food. Fast forward 20ish minutes and a female server walks into the bar area, mentions how the owner doesn't like it when the lights are on, and proceeded to turn the lights back off. One of the women I was with mentioned to the waitress that as a customer, we would really like to be able to see our food. In the middle of her statement, the waitress turned around and walked away leaving the lights off. Our actual server was great. I don't know who that lady was, but her behavior ensured I won't be going back.

I can't say enought great things about Mezcal in Ashland. First of all, their food is phenomenal. World class. More than that, the service is some of the best I have ever had, kind, thoughtful, professional. If you are in Southern Oregon and are looking for a great meal, this is one of your best options.

Took my drink order and ignored me for 30+ minutes.I ordered a drink and waited for a solid 30 minutes before leaving.If you don't want to offer outdoor services, don't.... please don't offer HEATED outdoor service, only to provide neither.
