We make trips from Portland to Astoria just to visit Bowpicker and get our fill of the fish and chips. There is a somewhat festive vibe to the line and people from all over chat it up. The line can be a bit long at times but it is absolutely worth it. Make sure to bring cash and an empty belly. There are several picnic tables across the street or you can bring your own blanket to sit on the grass.

Oh My SO GoodWe've driven by a few times and never caught them when they were open. It was our first time I was very impressed. The fish was not oily, the fish was not salty, the fries were just right, the tartar sauce was perfectly thick (not watered down like some places near by) very tasty also not salty they even had mustard!!!We will definitely be back. Thanks!! ?

I've taken many trips to Astoria and never had the chance to stop by. I went the other day and was very pleased with the trip. The fish was very fresh tasting and finely breaded, the steak fries -- while likely frozen -- had been cooked in very clean fry oil that resulted in a perfect combo of Fish and Chips. Great experience and well worth the price for a Whole Order.
